County on Fire!

Round the Bend
Well not exactly, but a steady enough start.
A few new names this season and good to see Ben Mike back with the Running Foxes!
I remember seeing Steve Sims down there sitting on the concrete benches next to the Meet.
Can't imagine many of the current crop of City players get down the Grace Road (or even know what cricket is in most cases). How things change.
Anyone recollect any other former players who used to go down to watch the County?

They could do with nurdling there way to another batting point but promising again after decent enough at Headingley.

Whether we have 20 wickets in us without Wright playing though we shall see.

Are they quite sure they have enough keepers? 4 in todays line up and that’s without Swindells playing. Feels like a daft spreading of resources.

Said before there is no interest in County Cricket
I don’t know how many are at Grace Road for a game but I would think 500 a day would be a decent shout
Leicestershire is not a big enough county along with a few others 😁

And the fact it doesn't swing sideways in silly early season conditions making top class batsmen look silly. It's also to try and get fast bowlers to hit the deck and get counties used to picking them rather than relying on dibbly dobbly nonsense.

Get him to take you in the members bar on the right hand side of the pavilion. About the best place you can watch cricket from, and should be some decent ale on tap.
Is that the RH side as you look at it from the pitch? That's where he normally sits (at least he did on my one previous visit). Our other pal has just become an actual MCC member - don't know if that gets us in anywhere additional to the county members though.

You can get in there for County games. Also the Long room on the barstools.
Went in there once when Middlesex were playing. Settled in to watch the match start when I got a tap on the shoulder and someone saying “excuse me can I get past please”…Mike Gatting going out to open the batting!

For those who don’t buy online before the day tickets are available on the day. They are £20 each in advance I hope they are the same price on the day.
