Diesel.

Near two quid a litre, painful filling the van up. The orange cunt over the pond, has expressed his need for his “European partners”, to release reserves, as yanks dont like paying over the odds. My vote is, fuck him. Reduce tax take on it, keep the reserve where it is. Live with it for a while, till after the mid terms. Remember how stupid Yanks are. If the price for them drops a few cents, Trump will claim that the world has bowed down to his might and they will support him.

Thank god I moved to electric, especially now Burnham has taken VAT off home (charging) energy.

How does it compare with diesel?

Are you fully electric or hybrid?

I'm toying with the idea but my old diesel banger keeps getting through its MOT even with 300K+ on the clock.

I stuck with my old diesel until it died completely. Im fully electric now. Charge on cheap overnight rate with Octopus. On occasions when the grid is full it also charges during the day but I get overnight rate. Was fortunate to fix my rate when it was cheap, so I get it at 3.9p per kwh.

On two recent occasions, I ensured I was fully charged before heading off, recharged back to full on return, then checked my cost on the octopus app. Coslville to Sheff Weds and back cost £1.79, and MKD cost me £2.10.

Car has a range of 240 from 100% charge.

Did Stockport and back on a full charge.

Charging 'in the field' can work out at about tbe same as diesel ( priced as it was) per mile.

Which model did you decide on? (you don't have to say)

Volvo C40.

On longer aways i just top up in tbe field enough to get home then full charge again there, so for Bristol Rovers away pre season game I paid out £20.

Best thing is Mrs wints pays the Leccie bills so it costs me nothing. Also when charging in the field, it gets charged back to our Octopus account so even that is free, to me.

Will be running my diesel car into the ground before I contemplate a replacement. I don't do a huge mileage so I suspect it's the last vehicle I'll ever own, but which of us is to the scrap yard first is anyone's guess.
