I reckon today Susan Whealan

I'm sure there is more to come.

If there are sanctions and the Super League is blocked - then they might want to start shitting themselves.

There are some huge clubs that are outside the Super Leagues plans. All the football regulators and even governments oppose it.

Squeaky bum time for the Big 5 and Spurs...

Well the statement from the remaining 14 won’t be worrying the greedy six.

"The Premier League is considering all actions available to prevent it from progressing, as well as holding those Shareholders involved to account under its rules. "

i wonder what the relevant rule is, and what punishments are available to them.

The rule is something about Member clubs requiring the PL Board's permission to play in any other competitions...
As the rules will have been drafted by fucking expensive lawyers, there will be plenty of legal wriggle room in said rules for said fucking expensive lawyers to argue over for a good few million £s – and the same applies to any sanctions...

But it isn't the PL that the ESL has to worry about - it's the government. It would be very easy indeed for the UK government to prevent any ESL games being played in England, and they've already said that's exactly what they intend to do. And given that banning the ESL would be the single most popular bit of legislation introduced by any UK government in decades, I'd say they're likely to do what they say on this.

As such, I just can't see how this thing goes ahead.

I thought the Gov has today left the PL clearly first in line to stop it from a UK perspective, whilst clearly being in reserve with the sword of damocles.
They couldn't really do anything else, without being accused of officiously jumping into control football, etc.
