Man City cheating

Lose every trophy they've won since 2009. Placed in the 9th level of English football. At the very least.

Enzo out of the prem again.

Some of the charges are the period where we finished 5th twice. Be interesting how they spin this. I assume we will be suing them and/or the Premier League for hundreds of millions in potential lost revenue due to not qualifying for the Champions League.
Or we will take their place in the Premier League

Their bottomless pockets of cash lawyers will appeal and keep appealing. This will go on and on until the PL give up as they haven’t got the money to compete with them legally.

It’s a joke.

They will have to wriggle out of the time-barred excuse, that allowed them to get away with their European ban. Costing us millions.

The Premier League doesn't have the time-barred rules that UEFA had...

The charges cover 2009-18, and we finished 5th 2019-20 and the following year.

I get the argument that their cheating has a long legacy, well into this decade, but I've no idea if that gives us any legal options.
Ironically Leeds case against us may provide a precedent...?

It's directly relevant.
They were banned from European competition, for cheating.
Got that overturned on a time-barred technicality (didn't rebut the cheating bit).
We lost millions...

A Man City fan just rang in to 5-Live and basically said that none of this mattered because they were so rich and the Premier League earns money from people wanting to watch them. Then said that "rules are for fools and for the rich they are guidelines", that Sheikh Mansour has been too clever for the Premier League and that they can't be relegated because they are too popular.
I hope they go bankrupt purely on the back of his arrogant rant.

I saw this:

35x Failure to co-operate with Premier League investigations December 2018 - Feb 2023.

I suppose it depends what that specifically means and whether it would have affected their position in the Prem or what kind of points deduction they would have been given. Also when the sanctions would have been administered.

I am sure there will be people a little more clued up than me on the impact legally on here about this.

The sanctions the Prem were trying to put on us last season must be used in our favor.

They will appeal and it will all go away for another 3 years during which they will win more competitions and rake in millions from Europe. Forget it for the foreseeable future

Lord “don’t panic” Pannick KC is expected to spearhead any appeal by Man City against sanctions. He only charges £5000 an hour!

So we actually finished 3rd and 4th in the EPL then

M'learned friends are already preparing the submissions for compensation me thinks and hopes

The world doesn't revolve around us. We are inconsequential and will not even get a mention. If they get punished, that'll already be a surprise.

The134 charges made against City cover the seasons 2009-10 to 2022-23 and cover a number of areas, with the most serious relating to claims that the club failed to priovide “accurate financial information” to the league during this time. From season 2009-10 to 2022-23 inclusive City won seven Premier League titles, a Champions League, three FA Cups and six League Cups.

So to 2023!!

Bluemoon is a joy to behold, if anyone fancies it!
To be fair, the posts i read are all "we did it, we're fucked, we had it coming" as opposed the desperate denial that I expected. Having said that, there are over 7000 pages in a few hours so I may not have read the lot...
