Surely one of you is savvy enough to set up a new message board.
I think we will be phasing this out soon, really ain’t got the time or inclination to carry on with it.
 
Just call it a day - all good things come to an end eventually

If it causes you angst rather than pleasure it simply is not worth it so why bother (especially when your receive little financial support from many regular users)?

You kept the memory alive for far more than a reasonable time

Must admit, it used to be a proper laugh on here.
Too many negative posts now, looking for a reaction.
Enjoyed a few meet ups as well in years gone by.
Where's Custard when you need him!!!
 
Said it before but will be extremely sad to see it go, but I can only imagine the work and angst it has caused you Mac.

Agree with that FIR. Cannot understand the vitriol that spews over the interweb but it seems to be the way people are these days. Would they say the same things to someone's face down the local. Course not.
It has been good being amongst fellow roofers (well I never actually went up on Bentleys factory roof).
Very happy to have the badge and the Hoss made Filbert Street entrance (and for years I went in the Family Enclosure so it is particularly poignant)!

For the benefit of anyone who might want to run it, what's actually involved?
There (thankfully) doesn't seem to be much in the way of moderation, so can you shed any light on the work needed – for the blissfully ignorant, mate?
 
I've met so many smashing people through being on the Roof and Gary's site before. Made a lot of friends.
Its been over 25 years, including Gary's site.
What was Gary's site called? I've forgotten.
 
I'd offer but I think that would put too many people off but I'm happy to support Wints or anyone else who takes it on. It serves a useful purpose to some people (hey filbo?) and it would be sad if lost.

There was the Treehouse, but I think that was before my time. I wasn't online til 2000, and I seem to recall The Fox being in the name of what I first joined...

To be honest Wints mate I want a clean break from it and will be using bentleysroof.co.uk for something else.
