As I remember both the Tolchards were expert at taking quick singles when playing for Leicestershire. Both like “shit off a shovel” between the wickets!

I remember us chasing a total in a B&H match in the 70’s. A SF. Roger single handedly won us the match mainly with his running between wickets

I remember having coaching in my early teens, back ín the mid sixties, in indoor nets near Western Boulevard. Gerry Lester was the coach and Roger Tolchard was his assistant. He had just started playing for the first team.

Probably the semi against Hants. Balderstone got a ton but Tolly got important runs at the end. Hants had Greenidge who got a ton and Barry Richards opening the batting and Andy roberts opening the bowling. We had Davison, Clift (i think) and Mckenzie as our overseas. We chased about 220/230. The ground was packed and they had a temporary stand at the Bennett end which i sat in and was full.
