Solar Eclipse at around 7pm tomorrow…..

…..the only Eclipse in Leicester used to be the pub of the same name with a “notorious reputation” on Eastgates opposite the Clock Tower. I only blithely wandered in there once (circa late Seventies) and after looking around decided to quickly down my pint and retreat. I seemed to be the only customer in there with trousers not held up by string!
Closed and partly demolished early Eighties I believe?
Anyhow lads don’t stare directly at the sun, use special glasses or even through a colander. Stay safe!

Older mate took me round town pubs with a reputation when I’d just turned 17 and I’m sure he missed it out even though I was keen to av a butchers ! Older lad I worked with said he walked past one night as a bloke flew out the window 😂😂 their ain’t really a pub that looks straight at the clock tower now I’m sure ? Eclipse , George, and close by tavern ,bohemian and long stop Winston's ( still goin in different name)snooty fox …happy times👍😊
