• Under the previous management there was a subscription option to remove ads. If you would like to use this option the subscription will be the same as previously, £12 for the year. I've set up a PayPal account solely for these payments bentleyspay@gmail.com Use the friends and family option and include your user name If you don't do PayPal, there is a bank transfer option. Send me a message for the account details. Again, I have opened a bank account solely for this. Thanks Andy (sgt_wilko)

'The Roof lives on' - New message board update...

Happy to remain a subscriber and see how things pan out

Happy to start seeing ads if it avoids the site running out of money (as has happened many times in the past)

However the facility to add comments to posts should be restricted to subscribers only - nothing of value comes for free and if £12 is too much for some very regular posters sobeit

it all depends if the moderators of the new board are defenders of free speech, completely unadulterated.
Some of you seem to hold grudges for some reason

I have offered FREE OF CHARGE hosting with BLUE HOST with a dedicated server. That’s £30 quid a month to me over a 3 year plan.

Offered to the new board for zero …

Strangely not taken up on the offer.

You lot are a bit clickey …

But if you are doing a $1 a month I can’t see a big problem.

There are all sorts of generous offers on the table thanks, but no offence was intended by the absence of take-up so far

if you’d be willing to go through the necessary process of registering with a new site - YES
whether you currently donate £1 per month YES
whether being ad-free is important to you YES

Of the 104 who have replied thus far (the vast majority being happy to pay to avoid ads on the new site), 71 currently subscribe (based on it being possible to send them a direct message) and 33 do not. Make of that what you will.

Yes, I have got too much time on my hands.

Does "Registered" mean "not paid"? And "Roofer" mean paid?
