Best Player Chants

It seems surreal when I read about The Doog, who was clearly a City legend but before my time as a City player. Sadly, I only have memories of him as a player wearing old gold.

One of your goals..I was there!!
I just remember the atmosphere that night being amazing. We scored early, ran the game from there, never looked like conceding in the second half, scored the clincher in the last 10 mins. One of those great nights at Filbo

We all dream of a team of Barry Hayles....

Number 1, Barry Hayles
Number 2, Barry Hayles.
They scored nil, we scored three,
Shilton saved a penalty,
With a nick knack Paddy whack, give a dog a bone,
Why don't F***st F**k off home?

He was some player and had an aura about him. It was arrogance but with an edge of fun. The influence he had on the team and the fans was similar to what happened later when Cantona walked into Old Trafford.

I was about 11 playing footie down Filbert Street car park when he first turned up perhaps to do the deal. We had no idea who he was, but with his mod attire and stature he looked like a proper player ... and he was.

John Saaaamels, whoa Saaamels, whoooa Sammels….”

sung for about 20 mins non-stop, City 2 Wolves 0, Cup 3rd Round 71/2. Night game, so either postponed from the Saturday, or a replay, can’t remember
Think that night I was in the Pop Side next to those lovely Wolves fans - wasn’t it after the pens went up and half the Kop de-camped to the Pop Side?
