It’s Wimbledon in the 80’s. The simple problem as seen today is that sadly it nearly got them 3 points. They’re on a limited budget with half a team of championship players but if they survive each season then that’s more than good enough for them. It’s their template.

It's a fucking annoying template.
 
I've not been today cos stuck at home with bloody Brighton covid, but I've nothing other than admiration for Burnley and Dyche. Wouldn't like to watch them every week but they know their strengths and play to them, regardless of what the what the latest fad in tactics are. A case of we know what we can do, let the opposition deal with it, no over complicating things.
 
They play to their strengths, making the best of what they have. I wish we would do the same. We have some really good players in our squad, but Rodgers wants them all to be Butch Wilkins.
 
A bit Kloppish to criticise Burnley. They are niggling spoilers on a fraction of our budget but their defenders can all launch it higher and straighter than Europe's Ryder Cup team. If we get outsmarted by their front two having the audacity to occasionly switch and play on the central defenders we don't want them to then shame on us.
 
I like Burnley and Sean Dyche, they are grafters, I wouldn't like to watch it week in week out but they will be OK, that cornet was impressive on his debut.
 
They wasted time and repeatedly committed cynical fouls. Its the refs responsibility to add on the appropriate time and mete out discipline. The second half they must have wasted the best part of ten minutes and yet only 4 waa added. Blame the ref for that.
 
Mee & Tarkowski could be the best defensive pairing in the league. Brave, strong, throw their bodies at everything. Old fashioned centre-halfs who do the basics very well

That's what happens when you get a Kraftwerk member as manager, I think German football and tactics are boring even if they do win things.
