Brexit Update

Of course we do. Let's drive them out when we're thousands of drivers short.
We have been doing this for some time, not just in haulage but in building and other trades.

This is entirely our own fault for various reasons. We have thousands, possibly millions of unproductive people in this country, we need to find a way of getting them into work, but we won't, for 'reasons'.

We could let the market sort it out but that is contrary to government dogma so that is not going to happen, just continue as we are and fuck things up.

Right now that suits the pro EU/Globalist agenda that is the only policy of our government, so it will continue.

Another opportunity for a dig at the feckless.
And there is the 'reasons'.

Getting people into productive work has been turned into a political football while the country falls apart.

Economically we are finished as a country, the government will run out of money in a year or two and be unable to pay it's way in the world. We will descend into chaos, scrambling for rare resources, it will get very unpleasant.

Never thought I would ever say this but I feel sorry for young people given what is coming.

Harwich you are a nutter
Or summed up the truth in one sentence ?

I read somewhere that a German newspaper described The U.K.last week as being like a once respected old friend spotted in the street shouting at pigeons in their pyjamas .

Something or someone else (usually immigrants, the EU or some version of socialism) will be blamed, & those that voted for the idiots in charge will feel absolved of their part in the process.

Foxgolfer, to accuse 50% of the population is wrong, arrogant, deluded and down right offensive.
Why aren’t you accusing the German press of jingoism? What they’re saying is just shit stirring and no better than the biased crap we get here

The German quote wasn’t jingoism it was sympathy for a friend gone mad .
If it wasnt immigration ( and in some cases racism) ,”socialism” or a lack of understanding of the EU single market what was it which persuaded people to vote against their best interests ?
And before you accuse me of condescending I hadn’t a clue about how important the SM and free movement was to us - as can be clearly illustrated by the farcical state of a once thriving. country .,

I’ve made it clear many times - i don’t accuse the voters -I accuse the liars who misled them and the complacency of the Remain campaign

Okay

Let’s have some
Since Jan 2020 - Brexit ..,….,,,,,
Fuel prices - Up or down ?
Food prices - Up or down ?
Illegal immigration - Up or down ?
NHS waiting lists - better or worse ?

Have the Brexiter promises been fulfilled ?
I have asked you several times to explain to me why any increase or decrease is due to Brexit. You persist in not answering the question or provide me with evidence to support your assertions.

Moreover, you fail to factor in COVID as a potential influencer on any increases or decreases. You continue to exhibit the classic Remoaner behaviours in every post that you make.

As an aside I did take a look at Food Price Inflation. I was not surprised to find that food prices fell in the year to end August 2021. In fact food prices fell in the UK by more than they did in Germany and France in the same period.

This may be because we have shifted imports to non -EU countries thus reducing costs. However, I have not had time or inclination to check the ONS on this so I won't draw any conclusions or make wild assumptions at this stage.

Everything is related. The UK is being destroyed as a separate and independent nation, this has been obvious for years but has accelerated a lot in the last 6-7. Absorption into the Global EU is the aim.

The kick back in the referendum surprised the authorities so the media driven propaganda was brought into play and the blame game started, along with the economic and social 'punishment beatings' for ordinary people. It has been relentless and people (me included on occasions) are arguing about drivers wages when the country is being dismantled around them.

Notice that this has little impact on the elites and other important personalities, they will not be the ones going cold and hungry this winter or the ones being denied healthcare.

Sixthswan and others call this 'disaster capitalism' and in the short term that is exactly what it is, longer term it is nothing less than the deliberate destruction of the UK, its culture and way of life.

If that is true it is being done by the very people you voted for to deliver the impossible dream.

Enjoy Spain.

This predates all of our recent ghastly governments, personally I date it from the Maastricht agreement but the idea goes back much further.

Spain is not my favourite place in the world but it is practical. Mrs AFC's Spanish is serviceable and English is widely spoken, the infrastructure is set up for a thriving tourist trade and ex pat community but currently massively underused, so very affordable.

The idea of a 'winter of discontent' in the UK is really not very appealing, so definitely a possibility. We know our way around and can easily set up for a winters stay.

AFC - by ex pat you mean immigrant ?
You don’t seem to be concerned you are contributing to the erosion of indigenous Spanish culture you claim is denuding the U.K. ?

And you wonder why your views, as deeply thought-out as you suggest they are, lack credibility.

The hypocrisy is astounding.

Foxgolfer I don’t claim to speak for anyone but myself, the reason I voted out was choice, we now have the choice to retain people from other countries (all 6 million at moment) bring more in (of the type we need) or get rid of those we don’t need. Under EU rules we couldn’t do that.
Your desire to retain cheap foreign labour baffles me, we want improve wages in the UK not artificially depress them, this is a great opportunity to force big businesses to pay decent salaries and look after the staff they have and maybe even remove the need for tax payers to top up the low paid’s earnings.

Don’t delude yourself about Germany, they’re desperate to keep cheap labour it is all that keeps their economy viable, if we can force wages up that will make the UK a better place to work than Germany

That's a fair point, but the business owners, shareholders etc still want their cut, so who pays for the increased wages? The consumer. Us. So isn't that a direct result of Brexit?

A lot of good points there HJ
I agree that wages need to rise in most sectors . I suspect being in or out of the EU is not the issue in most cases .

Why on earth do you think I am anti immigration. I am not and have said so many times.

As per usual you are arguing about things that I have not said and do not believe.

It wasn’t any anti-immigration stance you may or may not have - more the fact you’ve highlighted how Britishness (or a similar phrase you used) has apparently been eroded in the UK over the last few decades.

But as long as there’s an ex-pat community in Spain to have a glass or 2 of sangria with, & for you to get by on the serviceable Spanish your wife has, & failing everything, speaking English will have to be accepted to whomever you’re speaking to, then all’s well in your world.

Britishness has been eroded.

If you can’t admit that, yer fucking daft.

Before you start with yer racist, flag shagging bollocks.

Tell me hasn’t.

I work with dozens of people, originally from all corners of the world, every race/nationality/religion you can think of.

It matters not a jot me. A cunt is a cunt wherever they’re from.

I can also take a walk to my local park, and not hear one English voice spoken, again it doesn’t matter to me, but if you can’t see how that is somewhat strange, then I don’t know.

Ex pat, not immigrants.

They have no intention of paying tax.

There is no such thing in my world as Britishness. Englishness, Scottishness, Cornishness and the rest yes, Britishness, no.

You have pointedly described yourself as a 'British Asian', you can have an identity but I can not? Bollox.

Living in Spain we paid our taxes as most ex pats do, income tax for Mrs AFC, and all the usual property and wealth taxes, even though (contrary to EU law) some taxes were higher for foreign residents than locals.

Britishness has been eroded.
What is Britishness?

Scared of a foreign language - oooh.

Fairly good chance they can speak better English than most, & likely to be fluent in a number of languages too.

But then that kind of intelligence is scary I suppose.
