By the way

Who thinks Arsenal's clever by crowding out a keeper trying to do his job, it ain't clever it's
against the rules why the ref didn't whistle for obstructing the keeper l don't know
But had it happened on the field the whistle would have blown bloody quickly
.

Off the ball blocking is now endemic, not just Arsenal, all the EPL teams do it. Some are just ‘better’ at it than other
Whether it is the keeper or other key defenders, it happens at virtually every set piece.
It is cheating, foul play and needs to be dealt with, but it won’t, as it is a ‘judgement’ call that the officials can give whichever way they wish.

The wording in LOAF is ‘Impeding a player’s progress’ it along with how long a keeper has the ball (under control) in his/her hands (6 Feckin seconds) are the 2 most exploited/ignored Laws of official football…

When I Reffed I would warn both keepers early on that I was counting how long they had the ball in their hands, couple of indirect free kicks in the box certainly did the trick, one club actually complained to the Cornish FA about it saying Refs allowed much longer on the Feckin telly… 🤷‍♂️😂

I also noted at our game last Saturday when Everton made a substitution whilst they were winning.
He was much closer to The East Stand touchline but chose to leave the pitch (slowly walking past the referee, who did nothing) towards the 4th official.
Come off my soap box now 😁

Just leave Vardy and another nippy fucker on the halfway line and it will piss on Oldtittys bonfire big time

You just reminded me re the 6 seconds rule.
Last Sunday, I counted after Raya had the ball under control - 17 seconds.
The only way it's ever likely to get enforced is with a bit of crowd participation. If all home fans start counting out loud - very loud - when the oppo goalie catches the ball, the ref is less able to ignore this. I tried starting this in the singing section last season but fellow fans just looked at me rather than joining in.

Martinez at Villa does that all the time.
And another thing while we're having a moan.

What about the number of foul throws that go unpunished.

You'll see at least one in every Premier League game. Very often both feet are not on the ground when the throw is taken and refs seem to turn a blind eye to where it's taken from as long as within a 10 yard margin.
