OK. We got tonked by West Ham. It's not the first time. I was at Upton Park in 68. Because of tube delays we were already 1 nil down when I got in and ended up losing 4-0.

This is not going to be an easy season. We have a horrendous injury list. Some players like Barnes, Maddison and Ricardo are still not fully recovered from injuries. Others sadly like the great Jamie might be past their best.

We have had a fabulous last 6 years. It can't be like that for ever. Let's get behind the club so that they can regroup and future generations of supporters can have the success which we have been privileged to enjoy of late.
 
Brian Dear got a brace and Gilles was under pressure to drop Shilton for Mackleworth. Hutchinson and Potts had stinkers and Clarke spent most of the game mulling over how to word his transfer request, oh and we got relegated that season.

Despite everything we’ve achieved in the last 6 years, every season it’s all about getting to 40 points and then taking it from there.
 
Calm down old’un. It’s just the usual ‘Bentleys Knee-jerk’. A well known affliction that affects over-60s of the blue persuasion, who have feck-all else better to do than see doom, gloom (plus various conspiracy theories).
There are also a couple of others who are just ‘mischief makers’, not naming names, eh George.
I‘ve learned over the years not to rise to the bait - except betting against City😡
 
As a (well over) sixty I am dangerously optimistic and know not to take too much notice of one off results. I once researched the 'bad spells' of MoN for a piece and was shocked at how many he had... we tend not to have spells now.
The thing that does concern is the ongoing injury situation.
I know all clubs are affected at some point but sometimes the question has to be asked - is it all just bad luck with us?
That's as far as I can go on that as I don't have a clue about the fitness subject...
 
I'm working alongside a few Arsenal fans this week.
If you think this board has plunged into the depths of despair since Monday night, you should listen to that lot.
A couple have lumped on relegation at 33/1 which seems a slight overreaction to me.
 
The way Antonio played the other night I’d like to see him take a DNA test as I’m positive he must be related to Brian Dear in some way. Very similar stature
