Whitworth .. but Nish might be best FB
Izzet .. or Davie Gibson for the old folk!

The top one is difficult. Frankie was a class act but he was only with us for 5 years. Lineker left us at his peak. Scored for fun in a generally poor team. But Vardy has been consistent. There was a part of me that thought after him scoring so many goals in our winning season that it would be good if we cashed in. Problem was the buyout was just £20m. The fact he’s continued to score regularly and even won the Golden Boot shows his longevity. Apart from the season before last when TCR messed with him he’s been consistently brilliant. So JV for me by a country mile. If he can score 10 goals this season I’d be very impressed

For those too young to have seen Davie Gibson you really missed a treat but what about:?

Banks/Shilton/Kasper /Spider Kalac (just a joke that one)

For those my age or younger I would say Vardy is the best Leicester player I've seen. Not the most skillfull, that's Mahrez, but consider his contributions and the longevity and he will have been the greatest individual contributor to the club, and therefore, imo, the greatest player we've had.

The thing is you can never compere different years bring different styles different levels of fitness, skill try as you may equate the skills of Matthews to Saka both had/have control levels of the highest one with a ball of various pressure another with the lightness of today's plastic it's unrealistic to even think that one is better or more skilful than the other
Ground conditions have improved out of all proportion since l started watching fitness levels have also gone through the roof since a player of yesterday trained to an expected level, levels of medicine in football boarders on the insane compered to yesteryear l could go on rambling but ld probably bore you to tears

The original list makes clear to me how length of service plays a part in such calculations. Both in terms of achievement and performances, but also how you bond with them.
For instance, kante will always be an immortal without whom we wouldn't have achieved the impossible, but I'll always rate Muzzy higher. And maddison comes absolutely nowhere.

IMHO Vardy is our clubs greatest player, for a number of reasons:

1) Consistent goalscoring over 12 seasons, 9 of those in the top flight, and including a Golden Boot season
2) winner of 4 domestic trophies in his career with us (I don't count the Charity Shield)
3) a one club career, these days very rare - superbly loyal
4) 26 England caps, 7 goals, including scoring against Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. Should have been many more, both caps and goals

It's all really about the era you saw these players and what stands out in your eyes
We talk of Vardy but Derek Hines was no lesser of Importance to the team
Comparisons as a whole tend to highlight an individual not a team their are other values that contribute to an how you view or rate a player but he is only a cog in a wheel.

One our best midfielders has not had a mention
Graham Cross superb servant one of the best wing halves, the lad was built like a brick shithouse and played a
