Was always under the impression there was a 1 loan from each prem team limit also and if so Buona would have to go back to accommodate Ferguson so either the papers are misinformed, I am misinformed or he could be going back too (surely seems unlikely as he’s been our main offensive threat).

I don’t think it was that obvious. He’s not playing at all so he’s doing nothing for them just running down his contract at this stage. Some might have considered that Palace might be peeved that he’s not playing at all and might want to send him somewhere where he does get game time.

I doubt they give a shit whether he gets game time or not - I suspect they just want him away from their squad. He's not a youngster they're trying to develop - he's a failed acquisition that they'd like to offload. As long as another club is picking up the tab for some/all of his wages, they probably pay very little attention to whether he's actually playing or not.
