I'd argue that The Wall holds that title.Saw them perform this in Liverpool in 1975
A concept album too far
Have you heard Consequences? A triple album from 1977 by 5cc - aka Godley and CremeI'd argue that The Wall holds that title.
My late wife and I saw Hackett play the Cliffe`s Pavilion in Westcliffe , Southend, {the De Mont by the estuary} ,a few years ago. First time I had heard Suppers Ready played live since Genesis played the De Mont in the 70`s. Nad Silvan fronting the band in the Gabriel role. Absolutely brilliant performance. After hearing " A Flower, Winston Churchill dressed in rags, used to be a British flag" et all, well I needed to give my eyes a wipe in the bar afterwards. I was not the only one.Steve Hackett is currently touring the US playing songs from the Lamb, other similar era Genesis tracks and some of his solo work. Saw him in Philadelphia this past weekend. Tremendous show.
