Not the City but Leicester United. QPR played at United Park to officially open the new ground on Monday 9th November 1987, I have just found the programme.
I am sure the score was 9-0, Jim Smith's QPR were going really well at the time.
QPR had Seaman in goal but they seemed to bring a full strength line up to Leicestershire.
Three or four of the Leicetser United went on to professional football, it's a shame the County has never had a team consistently at the top of the non league pyramid.

Winger Dave Puttnam played for us for a bit before going to Lincoln & Striker Cohen Griffith went to Cardiff if I remember right.

That was a decent non league ground, now houses.

Didn't Dave Puttnam play for City for a while, maybe a £5,000 transfer from Leicester United.
