Man of the people

Like I said obsessed
Hardly obsessed. Just disappointed that so many failed to see him for the charlatan he is.

That there are still people that herald him as some sort of ‘saviour’ just goes to show how low standards have fallen in this country.

Ah yes, Leave voters “won”.

When the so-called architect lights the fuse, shits his pants & then runs a mile from the scene, you’ve definitely “won”.
We were a confident country , leading Europe and the world in so many ways . Now we are divided , economically impoverished. and reduced to a bit player on the world stage . We have corrupt, increasingly authoritarian government supported by right wing rags who are all in it to enrich themselves at our expense .

Irrelevant. A vote is a vote. Never was and never is a best
Joyce was in favour of the UK being ruled by tyrannical German extremists.

So had more in common with remainers than with Farage.
The reason most Germans support the EU is because they never want extremist nationalism to flourish and lead to such horrors as WW2 again .
The AFD are the closest thing to Nazis in Europe and they are passionately anti EU . Go figure.
Soft borders are the future . It will come once we’ve stopped hating each other and metaphorically burned all the flags

Irrelevant. A vote is a vote. Never was and never is a best of 3
When a vote like this one means you end up walking towards the precipice, another vote is never a bad thing, regardless of whether you respect democracy or not,

Never mind Remainers, the number of Leave voters now saying it wasn’t the Brexit they expected or that they didn’t think Brexit would affect them in a certain way, is enlightening.

It really does feel that a couple of people on here are waiting for everyone to suddenly stop, clasp a hand to their foreheads, and pronounce said couple of people to be completely right, all along, about everything.:LOL::LOL:

The Brexity papers moaning about Brexit outcomes is particularly sickening.
Brexit means Brexit . Yep . Tragically.

If that’s aimed at me, not everything all along.

Just pointing out that NF is a character that aimed to prosper by being divisive, was always self-serving, seen as visionary & influential, but is ultimately a false idol.

I'll get back to you on that... when we actually leave the EU and stop allowing them to run our affairs.

The huge mess that we are in regarding the EU is the responsibility of remainers who intimidated the government and drove it into the ridiculous 'half in/half out' situation we are now in.

Then moan about it as if it was someone else's fault when it is they who have stuffed things up.

There are 27 countries still in the EU, if you love it so much go and live in one of them, we would undoubtably be better off without you.

You keep blaming Remainers - I was reliably informed by Leave politicians that they were in the driving seat, that there were only ‘sunny uplands’ to look forward to & deals would be easy.

Observing the situation as it stands now, either Leave politicians genuinely had no clue or simply bullshitted their way to get people to vote for them.

As I’ve mentioned before, think of the country as a business - there is not one that would’ve thought about moving ahead with a process without any clue about how to go about doing it. That’s Brexit.

Pathetic . This mess is purely down to Brexiters . The fact remainers spent 4 years warning what Hard Brexit would mean to Irish peace , British farmers , freedom of movement , manufacturing, fishing , scientific cooperation, security , illegal immigration is not the fault of Remainers they are being proved absolutely right a d Farage and his allies basically lied through their teeth .
This is Leavers mess . Now deliver the promises .

Thanks to us "still being in the EU" as you put it, that is actually a lot harder than it was.

Morning SF.

Why is it harder, I mean for what reason is it harder?

As for the rest of you, you know my views, we do not have a proper Brexit because the government never wanted one, used every excuse, including pandering to the remainers, to fuck things up.

It was not Leave or Brexiteers that lied, it was the government. They lied to us throughout, from the moment Cameron said "We will implement your decision...." until now.

Many of the current govt were involved with the Leave campaign. The two are not mutually exclusive.

If they genuinely had no clue as to how to implement Brexit, then they shouldn’t have campaigned as such.

Due to their boasts of how easy it was going to be, they effectively hoodwinked you (as a Leave voter) & everyone else in terms of the national interest.

Thats actually fair comment Mistryman, though of course said with the benefit of hindsight.

I was foolish enough to believe, in general principles, the words of the democratically elected prime minister of this country.

The only thing I actually would take issue with is that, for us to know whether a good clean Brexit could be achieved or not would have required that we attempt to implement one. So far we have done no such thing.

Of course we have . Where are our MEPs ? Where is our membership of the SM or CU . What are you talking about ?

Before the referendum, when I saw the characters that were cheerleading the Leave vote, I figured there was only one way it was going unfortunately.

Check the rules on what is needed for residency now compared to before. A lot more money for one thing.

UK now counts as a 3rd nation.

Your crystal ball gazing was very good on that Mm, though I still maintain that the really big lies came from Cameron, a remainer.

That is quite true SF, but the real question is, why is that the case?

Because it is the rules the UK wanted!
