Mavididi

The initial post, and what the majority of posters lazily trot out about Mavididi is that he is lazy. If his defensive stats are better than 100-120 players in the same position in this division, and 20-30 higher than Fatawu then not only are my eyes not deceiving but the stats back it up. I'm not challenging or discussing his assists or goals. Assist and goals have nothing to do with being lazy.
You said at the start of your post he was above average as a winger at this level.

Except I didn't. Across the opening and following up post I stated he wasn't lazy given thats the label he's been given. I then backed it up with defensive stats compared to wingers and attacking midfielders in this division where his stats were better than over 100-120 in his position. Far bigger problems than Mavididi - the chronic Nelson being one that countless times escapes criticism.

Mavididi comes on V Norwich and 10 minutes later they score, Ayew comes on and 2 minutes later they score, absolute pair of feckin wasters, the videos of Ayew doing the rounds of him non tackling the Norwich player on the byline and him ambling off the pitch at the end as if he is a cripple (he is) are an embarrassment to professional football…

That's because Nelson is a 21 year old giving his all to try and stem the tide with little or no help from the dross around him. And I for one think he's doing a half decent job in the circumstances, but I'm sure you have some stats to back up your "chronic" claim?

Compared to the rest of the divisions attacking midfielder and wingers he's above average (proven stastically) for the number of touches. The bit that dismisses completely the nonsense around him being lazy is that he is in the 70% percentile for defensive contributions. Meaning he's better defensively than 100-110 other players in this division player in his position defensively. He's also had 38 shots. The issue is he's needed too. Why? Because both he and Fatawu have nobody to deliver to in the box. To illustrate it further Fatawu for defensive contributions is statically 20-30 players lower than Mavididi. But hey don't let genuine facts get in the way huh.
