Mendy.

Unbelievable transformation.
Will be good to choose between Mendy and Wilf with EL and PL games coming thick and fast.

He’s playing very very well & reiterate what has been said above, it’s an amazing transformation.
Feel that the rest of the midfield have to stay a little closer to mendy though than they do ndiddi.

I can recall that Mendy had a superb game, I think it was his debut ironically against Arsenal untill he got crocked

Shows that we should give some players time. There may be a player in Slimane and Benkovic yet.

It als shows that maybe we have some brilliant coaches behind the scenes that do have the ability to train and bring players skill levels up.

Slimani is rubbish, Aylestone Park nor Harborough Town would give him a game.

I like what Mendy does, simple but effective, seems to be playing forward that little more as well.

How come he didn't show this wonderful form before this season?
Is that a serious post?

The fellas has been injured on and off since he came. When he got game time it was in single game spells in 3rd rate cup games with the likes of fing King alongside him. How on earth can you get any sort of form and confidence when that happens? Let’s be clear Rodgers wouldn’t be playing him now either were it not for Ndidis injury and the lack of game time formula would still be stunting him.

They’ve worked on his forward passes - they must’ve done because the players in front of him are the same but his game has changed. What he is doing well now is protecting the ball and looking to release quickly into an attacking phase. He doesn’t cover half the ground Kante did (Mendy shuffles across the back 3 or 4 in a line) but his tackling, shielding and retaining possession are Kante like and we’d be lost without him.

Yes and no. He was pretty much a fixture in the team for the first half of 2018-2019 until he was injured around the time Rodgers arrived. But that was really his one previous spell where he has been given a sustained run out. He looks a different player now. I was never that impressed with his reading of the game before including in that prolonged spell of playing. Generally I think he's seeing things both with & without the ball much quicker than he was. With the ball, having both Tielemans & Praet alongside playing much closer to him helps give him a bit more time & options too.
