NFP. by Matt Mills

I’ve only listened to it for 20 mins so far but MM comes across well. I’ve always thought Pearson is a phyco and this just adds to the reasons. Yes he got us out of Div 1 and the championship but then again that’s his level

Didn't Mills get done for bullying some of the younger players.
 
Will try and give that a listen soon or sometime over the Xmas break.
The Martin Allen Undr The Cosh is worth a listen/watch too - he's mad as a box of frogs but the way Mandaric sacked him whilst he was dealing with Clive Clarke being in hospital was pretty low.

Bullied which players if you talk to most of the players they loved him. It was simple with Pearson if you didn't work hard you didn't get in the team. Don't forget he talked Vardy out of leaving the club when he had doubts

I stick by my opinion that Pearson is/was a phyco. The famous ostrich interview, the FOAD, the attempted ‘strangling of James McAthur, etc etc etc.
Yes he got rid of a lot of the wasters and got us out of the championship easily in 2013/4. But his whole demeanour has been strange for years. Remember these incidents are the ones we know about. Goodness knows what else went on. I’m not defending Mills who was IMO a terrible buy but Pearson comes across almost every time in interviews as an angry man.

 
Pearson got rid of some rubbish...fact

But his demeanour was in the end his on-doing and Derby was not his finest hour either
 
I'd love to know the opinions of Morgan, Vardy & Schmeichel, to name a few, on NFP

Mills was a wate of space and allegedly a troublemake. Pearson may have been a psych but the club and its fans owe him big time - without him the miracle of 15/16 wouldn’t have happened.

His record is not in doubt but you can’t act like he did as a manager of a top championship/ PL club.
Mills was in the Akinbadbuy group of terrible Leicester purchases
 
That MacArthur episode was the strangest of the lot. He should have been severely reprimanded by The FA for that and arguably sacked by the club.
 
I came to the conclusion that he has issues and he's always been a bully. I posted when he was still here about when he was nominated by his Sheff W teams to put it on some ticket touts l know, he went away after trying to give it the big un like a naughty school boy. To be honest, l think he was a shite manager but l didn't really not like him, he was a twat but he was our twat😄

But did he? Do we know that? Do we know that he (NFP) had tabs on Cuchu, or do we think that someone else at the Club who was paid in such capacity might have tipped a wink? The answer's there if you look for it.

It did happen without him.

He’d been sacked because he had no control over his son or 2 other players not good enough for a Championship squad let alone a bottom of the table Premiership one.
 
If he was such a useless caant why did the owners invite him back to work for them twice?

I once spent a week in quite close company (ski chalet holiday) with Nigel Howe, Chief Exec of Reading. Spent hours talking all things football, (nephew of Don Howe) - great bloke. He described getting £5mill for Mills as the best bit of business he ever did - I think ’arrogant prick’ was also mentioned as well as ‘self dilusioned’ and ‘huge inflated ego’ as well as describing him as ’not very good’. Says it all really.
 
Funny how all his clubs have got rid of Matt Mills ..... We paid a ridiculous fee for him ..... The only way he can make a living now is Tit-Tailing on former Players and Managers ...... Says it all about him.
 
He was the sort of manager that had opposition full backs looking over their shoulder if they went past him down the line.
ok for the championship but not the premier.

The fee wasn't really his fault though.

Sounds to me like Mills was on a high wage and Pearson thought he'd try and manage him out by bullying.

What I meant was he kept us in the PL the previous season (and don’t say that was Cambiasso cos that theory is bollocks). We could hardly have won the PL if we were back in the Championship.

l totally disagree, I'd say he put a very good team in a very bad position.

The 2 seasons he was with Reading I watched him quite a bit. My young son wanted to support his local team ( I tried and tried honestly but we were beyond useless at the time) so we saw them 15-20 times over the two seasons. Mills was bang average and when I saw we’d paid £5m I was gobsmacked. We got well and truly done. I said on an earlier post he was the defenders equivalent of Akinbadbuy
