Paul McCartney

Interesting listening to him yesterday talking about the Beatles rivalry with the Stones.

“We were great friends with the Stones, It was the Dave Clark Five we hated”
 
I won't come up with a load of iconoclastic reasons why the Dave Clark Five were better than the Beatles, that would just be tiresome.
Lets just say that the DC5 never produced a 'Revolver', which was the exact point when the Beatles turned into hippies and Rock and Roll lost its head of steam.
Lennon/McCartney were a formidable duo, but pound for pound - Mike Smith was the real deal. He'd drop-kick them both off a forklift. 💪

The first band I saw live was the DC5. I was still at junior school and must have been about 9. I persuaded my mum to take me to DeMont to see them.
She had a headache for the next 10 years!
