Philly

As for Reg and Philadelphia Freedom,i think it was more about BJK coming out than ladies, drag queen soul (less) muzak
The song was definitely about BJK, but as I'm sure you're aware she didn't come out until some years after the songs release.

She was however, coaching a tennis team in Philly at the time.

To think, this thread started about the music from the city of brotherly love.
it was Waltho, l was insulted by Tinhatter first, then that thing Sardine joined in as well. I ask Tinhatter what he was talking about basically and got nothing in reply. Hit and Run eh ! Theres a thread for all that, so why bring it onto this one ?

Not Philly but appropriate titled !!!

what's more why do you have to know who played the triangle on a song to "have a clue" ? Plus to say other peoples taste in music is this and that is stupid, if we all liked the same music it would be strange and there would never be any new music. Tinhatter for me comes across as arrogant on this thread, so he worked in a music shop and that makes his taste in music superior to everyone else's. Jesus there's a trouble mind there. I remember him sounding off at Bruin for nothing previously. To draw a line under this intrusion Tinhatter, be nice if you replied to my question in reply to you comment.

Moulton on fire
At my daughters wedding l put together 8 or 10 Tom Moulton remixes as background music while we ate the meal. They was also going to walk out of the ceremony to the Delfonics "Didn't l Blow Your Mind" , their choice, until they realised it was about breaking up

Waltho, I've just been told that George Clinton is on today in Kentish Town, trying to find out a bit more about it right now as I'm in London visiting my grandkids.
Gonna take some persuading my misses into it though.

Do you know of any open air music events east London way today ? l could take the kids. We were going to Stratford park, but there's normally something going on down by the river there, East Village, l think its called.

Sorry to upset you BNET, I had been told by a few roofers that you had a great sense of humour and liked a bit of banter .My extensive music library consists of most genres- reggae, country, rock, early Motown,Stax,Central African, gospel,I never think i have superior music taste, everybody to their own,as for being arrogant look in the mirror,g’day..

I actually like a bit of Philly now and again and my music taste is basically the full soul spectrum including house, northern, crossover, jazz, and everything in between. I posted the Philly thread as I was listening to stuff I’d hadn’t heard before along with Bloodstone who I knew nothing of except one song !

Nice evening for a pint or 2 round there.
My missus choir played The Jazz Cafe last night..."House Gospel Choir"
Bloodstone?saw them at Camden Roundhouse,72ish,supporting Elton John, Easter Sunday, excellent,Marquis lads well loaded,Palace away next day, borebage might have been present,as for the Bruin spat, i was well out of order/my head, apologised, all good now, hopefully.,

Fairy nuff!

I was really impressed by Bloodstone think I heard natural high in Leicester Palais first when I was 15, it was a regularly played tune there. Strange that I’d never heard anything else by them.

Please stop stalking me please, bit wierd, stop using the c-word when posters disagree with you, enjoy your grandkids while you can, from experience,..,
