Please Remind Me What You Leicester Folk

I have to disagree. Although I'm not sure where "up here" is for you.

I had one when I was in Whitby in the summer. Made by Bothams (supposedly famous?) and it was bland as hell. Short crust pastry, no jelly and the meat texture was horrible.

As for their sausage rolls I'd rather have a Greggs.
Whitby is heaven on earth🤘🏿👍

Having lived in Melton for 40+ years I found Dickinson and Morris pies to be very peppery but nice. The best place to get that type of foodstuffs is Jones the butchers on King Street. Their Hazlet, Ham, Faggots and Pies are to die for. I have to visit it when I go to see my relatives. I spoke to one of the sons of Dickinsons and he told me that Pork pies are not generally good to transport on aircraft due to the change of air pressure effecting the jelly.

Wool-ton pie. He's only gone and done it with one of the seemingly most innocuous posts for a long time. Way to go Soho!

Do they explode? I can imagine bits of pocket meat and aspic covering your duty frees as you prepare to land.
I bloody love haslet, but don’t know what’s in it. Probably for the best.

Just to endorse what Algarvefox said about Jones's butchers in Melton they really do make fabulous pork pies and if any of you visit at any time of the year do look them up and try one, you will not be disappointed.

I've tucked into the pork pie and the stilton an hour ago - and now I've just spewed up all over the sofa!!!
Merry Faacking Xmas.

Search for Alan Richman Eats Britain.
Episode 9 I think, set in Leicester, he goes to D&M pork pies in Melton.
Then pops down Welford Road for a curry.

Gotta love the roof
