Are you never happy? We needed a striker, he's a championship level striker, we couldn't get anyone else, not even Danny Ings!
 
I'm happy we've got a striker. He may be a star, he may be shit, thats not the point.

I'm not happy we've given a 28 yr old a four year contract. Rarely in league one does a player get more than 2 years. Handing out stupid length contracts is a big part of what has got us in the shit and i can't believe there are still city fans out there who can't see it.

No-one at 28 is dropping down the divisions to play for a 2 year contract. He was Bristol's top scorer last season.

We are only able to attract that player through financial means.

Conversely our best performers are a completely different profile. Young. Want to play to prove themselves. To make a career.
Not to end a career with a nice next egg.

Compare and contrast any of our youngsters with BDCR.
 
Perhaps they club is trying to balance the team with a bit of experience, which is clearly lacking in the striker postiion. Players like Chaplin, Riis and Lundstrum are a decent age profile with good expericence at the higher level meaning they can then go again if the club is promoted rather than having to undergo another rebuild.
 
I completely understand. I know a manager sees an ideal squad as a blend of youth and experience.

My point is fairly simple: we cannot afford players from a higher division.

We are a financial basket case. But we have a weak executive who continue to allow it.

Players are dropping one or two divisions to sign for us, mostly on long term contracts. They ain't coming for the love of Leicester or the love of league one.

Maybe they will work out, or more likely they will join the very very very long list of players we cannot shift. And so the doom spiral continues.

I think there would be a consensus on our worst 3 performers tonight being DCR, Burns and Cullen.
McCarthy as well if you'd asked at half time.
Not the youngsters, but the has beens. And we've just signed three more of them, who presumably will take the places of three of our youngsters.

Even if they help us get us promoted....then what?

I'm going bed.

You may not have noticed but we have NO strikers. Of course we can only attract players through financial means, do you think people want to play for LCFC for love? They don't even play for Spurs for love! It's a good signing, now he has to perform. If his goals help to get us promoted then someone will be interested in buying him.

You have little idea about the financial state of LCFC and it really isn't your problem.

We didn't spend excessively on lower league strikers who scored last season and we had our own young strikers Evans, Hutchinson, Otchere who had proven they were not yet ready.

You've complained every match this season about our inability to score, you'd have continued to complain if we signed no-one (and then got relegated) and you're complaining now.

Burns has been okay so far, but congratz on making your decision 4 games into a season and before our team has even practiced once together.

You're in a fantasy land fueled, no doubt, by our recent fantasy success.

Do you ever take a breath, and try to understand what someone has written. Let me try again and make it tangible for you.

Take some of our best ever teams, O'Neills or Pearson's or Claudio's. How many of those players came from higher levels, and were at the end of their careers on bigger wages than our budget allowed? Off the top of my head incant think of a single one. Even the older heads in those teams didn't come for financial reasons.

There are plenty who don’t know our financial position.
Only yesterday Nagerz was stating that we could be in admin by Xmas (?).
If that was the same give fix we manage to bring in new players and then turn down an offer for Page.
Some have been claiming that we owe £80m in transfers, a figure that is clearly somewhat out of date.

You have NO idea of our financial state.

Points deductions are automatic for clubs going into admin, no vindictiveness involved.

Claudio's team were in the prem, what higher level are the players going to come from?

You moan when we lose, you moan when we draw, you moan when we win. You moan when we have old players, you moan when we have young players, you moan when we don't sign anyone, you moan when we sign someone. Give it a break and enjoy your football or give it a break full stop.

Agreed – sounds like that transfer figure is way out.
But the Page decision is an interesting one. Given the repeated examples of appalling judgement exhibited by Top et al over the past 8 years, I can't say that I have full confidence yet that it'll turn out to be the correct one for the Club as a whole.
As far as I know, the ex-Sunderland fella has no particular axe to grind and so when someone like him – who has first-hand experience of a poorly-run PL club suddenly finding itself in Div3 when still loaded with PL overheads and attitudes – sees a clear-ish route to financial insolvency, I pay some attention to those concerns.
Throw in a rumoured apparent desire for a quick sale – I guess we might learn more about that in a fortnight or so – and I can't say I'm anywhere near feeling relaxed about the finances. And when O'Hora's former manager says that he 'couldn't stand in the way of a life-changing opportunity for the player and his young family', it makes me wonder whether he's talking about his chance to finally realsie his dream and play in England's Div3, or whether it's actually about LCFC's continuing contractual largesse.

Ask sheff weds fans about the EFL and their point deductions. Stop and think before replying.

And once again, we DO have an idea. Do we know line by line the P&L...of course not.
But we know our latest published accounts. We know the rules by which the club have to abide in league one. We know the reduction in TV revenue. We know the parachute payment status. We know which loans we have with Maquarie. We know which players we've bought and sold and in some cases we know the fees. And best of all we know the points deductions and the losses reported in recent years. That gives you an idea of HOW the club operate, and based on all that evidence a self appointed professer should be able to have "an idea" of the clubs financial state.

As for moaning. I'm a football supporter. It's what we do. But for the record I've NEVER moaned about the young players. Not once. In fact this whole argument started because I was advocating more young players over buyer old players here for the money. But you keep making stuff up if it makes you feel superior.

You have been saying that we have massive debts since I arrived on this site. I've questioned you over and over about it. All available evidence says we don't have very large debts. King Power have problems and that is why they want to sell us. But as you now say, no fan knows and we'll see.

You and Fibo65 seem to think LCFC have massive debts, I don't. We've both seen the same P&L. You stick with your pessimistic admin scenario and keep moaning about everything. I'll stick with my optimism and believe we're going be okay.
