Rodgers

It also has to be added that Dortmund are a bit out of sorts at the moment. Their start into the new season has been a bit below par under new manager Nuri Sahin (their weakest start in ten seasons, apparently), and they are only 7th in the league right now (P6, W3 D1 L2). They were whopped 5-1 by Stuttgart only two weeks ago, for example, and lost at Union Berlin 2-1 yesterday.

So it's not exactly as if Celtic had to play an invincible team.

I loved Lenny when he was with us but he needs to go and see some people in white coats pronto.
They’ve been beating most teams this season as the general opposition is around bottom league 1. Pretty much every away game their fans fill the ground so it’s like a home game. Must have been like being hit by a hurricane tonight in front of the Yellow Wall
Could be the long term effects of Shearer rearranging his parting with his boot - you know, the incident that never happened that we all saw...

Exactly this
I agree. Puel was perhaps a bit under-appeciated but he was not good on communication perhaps because of language difficulties. Also he didn't understand the importance of the FA Cup fielding weak sides most notoriously against Newport. I don't think too many were sorry to see him go but in retrospect he did a decent job in building a squad which TCR took on to FA Cup success.

you see it throughout Rodgers managerial career.
He inherits a solid team, then as he brings his own guys in, the performances go downhill and he starts whining until he's fired, usually a 3 year cycle (except the SPFL where a dog could manage celtic to the title).
Why the radio/tv experts can't see this when fans can is beyond me,.

So if you go by that logic CR only won the premier league because Pearson gave him a excellent squad.
I think there's a huge percentage that we won the league with the nucleus of Pearsons squad. 3 or 4 outstanding unknown quality players added to it obviously. In Marc Albrightons interview on Under the Cosh he says the main reason we won it was because Claudio didn't try to fix what wasn't broken.
But hey Daz, I'm sure you know better than one of the players who played under both.

Puel seemed to be able to spot talent, and he did a decent job rebuilding the squad. Where he fell short was putting it onto the pitch. I agree he'd probably make a decent DoF but he does have shortcomings.

He's been out of work since he was sacked by Saint-Étienne in December 2021. He's 63 now. Maybe he's packing it in?
