Rougest days with City

Millwall away FA Cup 1985, their old ground. Night match, ambushes left right and centre on the way to the ground, carnage on the way back. Never felt like that at a game before or since. Genuinely life threatening.

The Den 1985.

Was greeted with some glass projectiles on emerging from the underground. Numerous scuffles outside the ground.
A couple of ' wallers' announced themselves in the Leicester end, when Millwall scored. A few of our lot piled in and I didn't see the wallers' again.
Didn't relax until on the train home. Just one of those games where you needed eyes everywhere.

Didn't see your post Lowestoft. You've pretty much echoed my experience.

I remember The Den 1969 when me and my dad got lost and ended up walking through a rough area of flats, at the end there was some old garages and there was a Ford Zodiac with two men in the car pulling a blokes teeth out, my dad said "I think that was the Richardsons gang taking care of business"

Someone is obviously using my sign in name to fabricate stories .
It's not the first time this has occurred.
As from today I will not be posting any further comments ( which will obviously make people very happy)
It's a shame that someone has to infiltrate a posters user name.

I've just banned that username. should be OK now

Tried hard to think of the worst as there's been loads of iffy ones but most of the time these have seemed good experiences afterwards. Had bumps and lumps at games and been at most of the ones mentioned. Got kicked around the floor by about 50 Turks in Izmir (l know its not City) which was no big deal really. So l think probably the worst really was Chelsea on that Boxing Day. They give us hell, though Yorkies mob put up a good show in the ground. They kept us in for about 20 minutes afterwards on a cold freezing night and the fuckers were still waiting for us, then they mingled in with us on the walk to the coaches. I think this one is forgotten for being dodgy as fuck because we got the upper hand in the end to the most feared notorious lot in the country at their ground. I can still see in my mind a vivid picture of them when we'd got together and they couldn't believe that we were going at them. l think we had no option actually, but to the point of the last conflict l think that was the roughest away l can think of. Most of the others we'd deliberately put ourselves in the situations. 10 of us getting cornered by 200 Forest in the '80's was a bit dodgy, but we survived. I reckon when you are young, like 12 to 16 and your not sure what's going on or going to happen, was often a bit scary. Like the time we got chased out of Sheff Wed's kop, I'd only be 13 or 14 and everyone saying "they had knives" made us think "that was a close un". They more than likely never, but its how the stories went at school on the Monday. Getting back to the station in dribs and drabs was always fun and a relief if it'd been on top and sharing the "near miss" tales of how we all got back was a buzz.
I was there that day, can't remember much before but when those Chelsea were marched around into our end by the old bill i was just behind yorkie kicked them out straight away. Then it just seemed to get dark and everyone knew what was coming next,i just strolled back in the pitch black back to the coach trying to keep near a copper, all of a sudden chelsea seemed to be everywhere i don't recall who said it but in the dark somebody said fuck this Come on Leicester and the rest is history. "Hark now here the Leicester sing the Chelsea ran away and we shall fight for ever more because of Boxing Day".

its been written about quite a lot, but when we got to the corner where the shop was some, l think Belgrave lads, were emptying the milk crates. It was shit or bust l guess, we had mobbed up a bit then if you remember, then just went forward at them. They didn't expect it and looked as if to say "what the fuck is happening, no one does this" The police dog slowed it down, but they had put the reverse gear into action. I ended up right in the front through the adrenalin buzz, in fact a bit to close to the dog, then l got the wake up call in my head saying "what you doing, you're gonna get nicked. Worst bit for me and me mate was, l had a white jumper on, so easily recognised and our car was park 100 yards further down from the buses. This was because they were cruising around in the back of vans, ready to jump out and pick us off. They used to do that. Theres no way they wouldn't have recognised me from the bit on the corner. Fucking well relieved when l got into the car and shut the door.

I can still remember the sound of those milk bottles, what pisses me off with Chelsea they never acknowledge any time we have had a go. Of course they always had a massive mob but we did our bit the Friday night home game i was still at the station with KTM at 11 knocking a few of them out.

With the rubber coshes courtesy of KTM😉

Bit later on and BS times. Too many to pick out but any Chelsea game at home in the 80’s. 89 being the closest to a full on 300-400 per side - maybe more.
Had a close call at Luton once when I got split from the Main BS .
Derby away in the car park - got cornered by DLF and then OB on a horse !
