All the foundations set up by Pearson and enhanced by Ranieri for that season, wrecked.

The spirit, the identity, the care taken in recruitment both in the ability and character of the player, gone.

He hasn't got a clue. A legacy thrown away. There cannot be anyone more incompetent in professional football than our Jon.

Bad Cop Jon appointed DoF late 2014.

Pearson, Walsh and Shakey here until mid 2015.
The team recruited for Ranieri to utilise was Pearson's.

The real rewards of Bad Cop Jon's endeavors started when there was a failure to get rid of Rodgers mid 2022 or at least after that game first game against Brentford.

The world and his dog could see the players weren't fit, Rodgers had lost interest, and he was completely out thought tactically by Thomas Frank.

Since then it's largely been a downward spiral giving us a team full of overpaid dross.

The millions of pounds we are spending - not forecast - paying up manager and coaching team contracts. No wonder we can never escape PSR when every year we pay off two managers contracts when they fail.

Someone on the board MUST be asking questions about this?

I hear what your say, just to add the board are all also responsible. Do we know why Wes and Hugh left their roles at the club? Was it that they saw the mess coming?
 
You say thatElsie about the Brentford game but we never actually lost. So how can Rodgers of been out thought tactically?

Those thrown away 2 points were solely down to TCR throwing a strop.
That 2 points that would have kept us up at the end of the season.
It was an abomination, it only served to massage the ego of TCR and ultimately it cost us so dearly.

What Hackney said except replace necessary with blindingly obvious before substitutions. It was the first match of the season and boiling hot. Frank brought on 3 subs at the beginning of the second half. TCR should have done the same but it did not fit with his masterplan.
 
How can it be two points thrown away 2 nil is always a tricky scoreline as it only needs one goal and team is in ascendency. One manager thought about making changes, which they had to as they were 2 nil down. We didn't need to make changes as we were 2 nil up. Had nothing to do with Rodgers throwing the game. Anyone who knows Rodgers knows he cares about his reputation. So there was no way on earth he did anything deliberately.

Don't be stupid.

Hot sapping day, players wilting, one manager makes multiple changes to put some new energy into his team, the other does nothing because he's not happy with the lack of funds.

Even a faacking idiot like me could see it

Even before that, it can all be traced back to the game against Forest in the cup and Rodgers comments afterwards.

I don’t think anyone was calling for his head then but it did start after that Brentford game.

Exactly this,I sat at half time at that game thinking to myself this is going to be a long hard season for Brentford as they'd hardly had a kick but good old tcr sorted them out and in the process started our downfall

Totally wrong again. We did need changes, the players were wilting and up against fresh legs.
By deliberately do nothing TCR didn't attempt to adapt to the conditions. He criminally tried to get the 3pts by making everyone suffer, it was to massage his ego in trying to make his point.
It spectacularly backfired and ultimately we paid an extremely heavy price for it.

TCR was interviewed after the game and he actually said the reason we dropped the points was because of the players tirering in the hot weather!!! Go on melton explain that one away

Frank made subs - flooded the midfield.

When Rodgers did make a sub he took a midfielder off and put Daka on.

Brentford took total control

Vardy and Daka barely saw the ball.

Brentford score two, draw the game, due to Rodgers' tactical ineptitude or being a mardy arse, or both.
 
The case is well made but in no way did his petulance mean relegation several months later. We sleepwalked out of the division with more than enough talent to survive.
Equally Top's defence of Rudkin about his earlier contribution to success is not valid because it is about now in competitive elite sport, not ten years ago. I reckon incoming new execs are about sidelining him out of the picture and his eventual retirement. If this policy fails then we are truly in deep trouble.

I hope you’re right there Oadlad. I did think and hoped the same when I listened to his recent BBC interview.

You can dress it up anyway you like, but we were 2 points short of survival and I'd argue that the Brentford game was 2 points thrown by a managers stubbornness to change things.
Not only was it needless it also began a poor run of results at the start of the season which properly flattened the mood after some euphoric seasons.
