I remember that too. Also the League Cup game at Anfield when I think he scored winner in extra time. A terrible loss to his family and the game. RIP.

On a slightly different note. Obviously until a full analysis of the accident is done, we won’t know what truly happened. I’m not for one second saying it was his fault. But I’m amazed this doesn’t happen to more footballers nowadays. Most have high powered sports type cars and some are very young. Obviously Michel Antonio got lucky last year and Jose Reyes ex Arsenal died a few years ago but they’ve not been many thank goodness.
The other one that comes to mind is the great Laurie Cunningham too. RIP all of them.

Overtaking another car - a tyre burst - car (Lamborghini) went off the road and caught fire. The 2 brothers died still inside the car.
