So... if all the none mask wearers and anti vaxers

Ain’t getting tested, where are all the positive cases coming from?
They can still transmit it to other people who then do get tested. I have to do the lateral flow tests twice a week for work. If I encounter someone who is asymptomatic and not wearing a mask there is the, admittedly slim, chance that I could get it.

So folk who are getting positive tests have caught it from those who don’t wear a mask etc etc. Can’t be many left who haven’t had it that don’t wear a mask. Considering it’s a slim chance that
1. Someone who doesn’t wear a mask has contracted covid.
2. They are asymptomatic.
3. You have managed to contract it off them despite you wearing a mask and following all the protocols.
What we’re being told don’t make sense.

There is no real evidence that asymptomatic transmission of Covid-19 is a thing. For someone to be infected from person to person contact, they would need a level of infection high enough to overcome that persons immune system.

Like all viruses, the SARS Cov 2 is everywhere but the concentrations are small and the immune system shrugs it off, for you to be infected enough to make you ill you need a high concentration, ie a substantial viral load. For that to happen the viral load in the person passing it on would have to be very high indeed which would put them at home, in bed, feeling rather unwell.

So if nobody is well enough to pass it on, it must be all an elaborate hoax?

That's cleared that up then.

Meanwhile my friends in India somewhat disagree with your analysis.

And nice cultural misappropriation for bonus points.

Christ SF, stop looking silly and read the post...

Person to person contact, one person giving it to another, if you are capable of passing a large viral load to another person, sufficient to make them ill, you are likely very ill yourself.

This is why most transmission takes place in hospitals, nursing and care homes and families who are caring for a family member who is ill.

I have not been in India since December 2019. What I know about the current situation is simply the numbers.

Up until about 3 months ago India had the virus under reasonable control using Ivermectin based therapies. They then stopped these treatments as the vaccines were introduced, since then

infections have gone through the roof.

In another world, Mrs AFC has had the blender out and is preparing cocktails, my reward for fixing a few bits and bobs in the bathroom.

If you tested one million men for pregnancy, 500 would be positive. As the government won't publish the error rate we'll never know how many people have actually had Covid but even at 2% you'd get the current rates of "infection". (Unconfirmed by gold standard test).

I've never worn a mask and haven't had it (although I had a very weird cough in Jan '20) and all the people I know who've had it (6 people, none dead) were mask wearers.

Established science was abandoned in April 2020, even after several studies showed only negligible benefit of masks (<1%) and the public health harm of lockdowns. Asymptomatic transmission is "virtually impossible" according to the WHO and data shows that the overwhelming source of cases were from care homes and hospitals not from the general population.

Not that most of you will care about that.

How come all the dickheads on here quote friends that always live on a different continent.
Either liars or boring cunts that anyone they come in contact with fucks off as far away as possible from them 😁

India is 117th in the list of countries by cases per million, their horrible situation is only newsworthy because the BBC have decided it is. Probably teeing us up for an Indian variant to put us back into lockdown at some point.

They are 155th out of 167 health systems measured globally so it's permanently overwhelmed, probably why 26000 people die on an average day.

It is certainly provocative. It is something I feel quite strongly about.

I'll change it if to really feel it is inappropriate.
You don’t seem to think it is? Not wearing a piece of cloth over your mouth or not taking the jab, is really not equatable to what happened in WW2.

Surprised that someone like yourself that claims to take all things into consideration before reaching a conclusion, has decided to do something so attention-seeking.

Anti vaxxers have been told on this forum that they 'should be in jail', 'barred from pubs and restaurants' and 'forced to work in a covid ward without PPE'.

The final solution started with 'everyday' street attacks and boycotting the wrong sort of peoples businesses.

We all know where it ended. Believe me, I did take 'all things into consideration'.

They will be threatening to break your windows next. It’ll be interesting to read what the responses are, whether they will address your comments or just throw in a lot of whatsboutery or disappear up their own arsehole (which is the norm)
I’ll get the popcorn ready.

Getting lectured by an Irving fan-boy...I'm sure your mate would have a lot to say about the origins of the badge in AFC's profile pic.

It is interesting, we have people, on this very forum, who seem to support 'cancel culture' and are happy to see people with the' wrong opinions' have their careers, their lives destroyed.

I consider myself to be 'right wing', but my reality is that I support independence of thought, self reliance, free speech and, equality of opportunity.

Those kinds of thoughts put me in a minority at the present time, sure some of the problems arise from some serious and very nasty government propaganda, but rather a lot of people are buying into this narrative. This may well start with simple social exclusion, but we all know where it ends.

Guess I’ve always been classed as left wing. In my day the left were the ones who opposed the establishment and the right upheld it. Embarrassingly it’s turned full circle.
I handed the baton over to this lot and they fucked it up.

That is a very astute observation.

Rather foolishly (as it turned out) I explained that I stood against the NF some 40 years ago in demonstrations that were, in the main, organised by the left with the SWP (or its predecessor) at the forefront. The issue was so clear and straight forward that supporting some of my friends who were more deeply involved was a 'no brainer'.

But things have changed, as they do, authoritarianism is the enemy, whether from the left or the right. I am not a socialist but I have no problem with supporting people 'of the left' who genuinely want to help people, promote equality of opportunity and encourage people to be the best that they can, there is definitely a place for that, even in a mostly capitalist society.

Back to OP, who says non maskers / non vaxxers are not getting tested?

I understand why they don't wear masks and don't get vaxxed, but why would they not get tested if they thought they had symptoms? Or if they were required to do a test for other reasons?

Reality is there is no left and right any more. It’s the establishment that needs opposing. Maybe that was always the case but it’s much more clearer now with the platforms we have due to the internet. I think this is how the woke generation has grown. They’re still stuck in the 80’s and need a cause, even if they have to make one up or take a lead from the establishment to be given a cause.

Of course they are. What they say on social media and what they do in real life is different for so many people. I sometimes think some people might be liars and hypocrites occasionally. I'm a bit cynical like that.

Those that I speak to or read on Twitter (you can only go on face value) are absolute that they will not get tested or have the vaccination. But more to the point. I’m sure many many tens of thousands who claim to have tested positive who have religiously followed Boris’ advice and stayed home, washed their hands while singing happy birthday and wore a mask. How on earth did they catch it if those that haven’t done any of it have not. (Yes I’m generalising buy the numbers that the MSM keep throwing about something isn’t adding up.
