Not that you'd know this, the title is a play on the "Huey!, Listen Whitey" LP a collection of speeches by members of the black community on the assasination of MLK and the arrest of Huey Newton from the Black Panthers orginally put out on Folkways records in 1972.
You right I do not know that , and I think your confusing me with someone who is actually bothered.

It sold out it's first printing. There are things called bookshops which sell things called books. They've been around a lot longer than amazon.

here's some audio from the BBC featuring him and a bunch of other people talking about the subject of using music as a rallying call for equal rights.
Black Power in the US in the 60's and 70's - so relevant to the UK in 2021.

Anyway, I thought that the England players were non-political with this protest?

Why do people like you keep responding if you're not bothered?
You started it by attacking me about black peoples Heritage, I was just responding, for the record I do not boo at football matches but understand the people that do. I do not believe that a persons skin colour has anything to do with anything, but as I have said before the phrase, Black lives matter suggests other skin colours do not? It is divisive and that has no place in society . We have done this subject to death before on here and personally I am making this my last say on the subject.

Tea break you really need to calm down, just because people don’t see things the way you do does not mean they’re against you

Huge, I'm lovely and calm.
I don't care if people are with me or against me regarding views on a particular subject, it's the type of person they come across as when posting that makes me put them on the ignore list.
I don't agree with What? (or you) a lot of the time but neither of you are dickheads.
RF saying 'BLM implies other lives do not', is like saying Save The Whales means 'kill every other species', i can't tell if he's genuinly thick or deliberately obtusive so he can wind people up in jest.
Pen4 on the other hand is just a nasty little shit.

Mr T just hear me out with this. In my opinion taking the knee is no longer achieving anything. The normal members of society are acutely aware that racism is abhorrent, granted fat old white blokes can’t really understand the issues but we’re trying. The nutters are not going to change their views no matter what. So us right leaning whiteys need to be nudged along the path, I feel continuing with taking the knee is no longer sending a message and is clearly antagonistic to a minority so a new strategy is required. Pulling down statues does nothing for the cause and upsets the middle of the road generally decent majority. I don’t know what the answer is but causing people to effectively switch off certainly isn’t. Telling people they don’t understand and are part of the problem just has a negative effect, the people sending the message need to be innovative not repetitive, us old geezers need to be persuaded and educated not beaten or bored into submission. This is meant to be constructive and not critical we (decent people) all need to move down the road together, I’m afraid it might be too slow for some but evolution will work just a well as revolution in the long run. Changing history ain’t the answer, let’s change the future for the better

Agree with a lot of that HJ
As I said earlier - not strongly a supporter of the “knee” gesture but find the booing ridiculous and not the way to deal with what is clearly quite heartfelt gesture by young men , many of whom are racially abused on a daily basis .
I don’t think History is being changed, just made clearer . Surely finding out more and learning from our History is the best way to change the future for the better .

There’s no point to history if we don’t learn from it but that doesn’t mean we should erase it or ignore the good in some because they were also bad
For the record booing is counter productive but not everyone has the eloquence to express their views without being offensive
Listen to as many views as possible it probably won’t change your mind but it might help us all to understand each other a little better

So I am thick? BLM is nothing like save the Whales and kill all other species. its more like Save the Black Whales and to hell with white Whales do you not see the difference? I am not being pedantic but this is not a racist country and anyone of any skin colour can make a good life here with skill and hard work just look at the Rich footballers taking the knee.

Mr Huge,
I am in partial agreement, but here's my sticking point.
Instead of telling 'them' (minorities, gays, women, anybody fighting oppression) how 'they' should be protesting, why don't we listen to them and be supportive of them in the way they want us to be?
Brentford didn't take the knee in the playoff final because ivon toney said the knee gesture was past it's sell by date. Fine by me, if that's what he wants, who am i to argue. Other players still want to take the knee, again no problem, if that's what they want.
I will listen to them and hear what they say and do what they ask, not lecture them on what they should be doing having not suffered the kinds of things they have.

Protesting is one thing, violence, vandalism and law breaking is another. Taking the knee always strikes me as subservient which I’m sure isn’t the what is trying to be said, it’s time for something else.

The message is good it's being delivered by some in the wrong way.
but we are specifically talking about footballers, kneeling for 5 secs before a match. if that is "the wrong way", then what way would you deem acceptable? i can't think of a less triggering way for a footballer to use their platform.

It is not my place to 'deem' what others find acceptable or not. My personal view is that the massage of anti-racism which we would all (I think) support has been deliberately conflated with support for a hard left political organisation that itself supports violence and racism.

I find that unacceptable, I simply will not have it. Other views are available.
