The Killing

Just got into this on BBC4 - excellent. On iPlayer too.

If you’ve got Netflix I’d recommend the Kominsky Method. Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin star. It will resonate with blokes of a certain age ... blokes like the majority of us on here.

Watched the 1st series (Danish) last year. Very good.
Was told a few weeks back that it was on , but it was the American version ,so didn’t bother.
Found out a couple of days ago that the 2nd and 3rd series (danish) are on BBC I-player at the moment so bingeing here I come.

Your a bloke then? Couldn't guess from your user name. 👍

Seen all 3 Danish series. All very good.
I do like a bit of Scandi Noir....
If you are into foreign dramas, if you can find it, Tabula Rasa ( Dutch ) is absolutely brilliant.
Even if the start doesn’t appeal, stick with it, some stunning twists.
In my opinion, one of the very best.

Half way through series three at the moment.
Very good so far, I like the fact that it’s political and a murder drama intertwined.

THE BRIDGE IS VERY VERY GOOD Danish and Swedish the guy in it went on to be in Killing Eve as the Russian handler

Watching another BBC I-player Danish drama at the moment, Darkness:Those Who Kill. Very good so far, half way through.

The Killing was a gamechanger and kicked off the whole scandi culture and demonstrated that we are not frit of subtitles if it's good.
The dozens of similar progs which piled in afterwards included some mediocre stuff but as said, there is some good stuff from other Euro writers. Another point is that the content often (usually?) has an 'issue' background which Brit writers seem to prefer to avoid.
