TBH, it doesn't really need the govt to say or not say anything does it? All it needs is an immediate bit of misinformation on social media, & far too many will take it as the 'truth' because it either fits their belief or acts as an excuse for their anger / frustration.

Because there is currently no proof that the motive of the killer was to influence the government, or an international governmental organisation or to intimidate the public AND also for the purpose of advancing a political, religious, racial or ideological cause...

I agree, but that applies to both the public on one side and the police and goverment on the other. Two wrrrongs do not make a right, especially when the wrong turns out to be a right. How much better handled would it have been if this sort of incident had been rightfully condemned with an assurance that they will try to make sure it will not happen again.

Lying and ignoring has us to where we are now. The only way to repair any kind of confidence in the powers that be is to be as open and honest as they can. People are serving time for the aftermath and while some people deserve time for what they did, you can not tell me that we are safer because of the 2tier Kier stance and justice served. I mean how can you go to prison for buying eggs and you see muslims in Birmingham off with suspended sentences despite the violence.

This country voted for a party that promised to sort out immigration. We have been doing the same for 20 years, yet it gets worse and there are many disenchanted people in this country who have had enough. Lying, or suprressing the truth only causes further problems.

Meanwhile the 2 brothers are still yet to be charged with attacking police at the airport almost 4 months ago. Can you not see why people have had enough?

As others have explained here already, if the person pled gullty, that inevitably sped-up the sentencing. But where there's multiple accounts of what was said & happened, I can only assume that things take longer. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending what seems obvious but as I said elsewhere, wouldn't we all prefer a watertight case so no-one can wriggle out of their crime?

And how quickly would you want a government of less than 5 months to sort that out? People are already forgetting how the last lot decimated the country in every possible way. Disenchantment shouldn't mean innocent parties are targeted - mob rule has previous.
