Tomato Blight

Its rife down here all over the place.
Due to wet weather earlier in summer and 3 days consecutive of humidity over 85%.
This caused the dormant spores to come to life.
Very disappointing.

Two years ago we lost our entire crop to it.

I decided to stick to cherry tomatoes after that and have had no problems since.

Its badly affected my tomatoes down the allotment even though I grow them in the greenhouse. The only solution is to pick the undamaged tomatoes when they are still green and ripen then at home on the window sill.
I also grow cherry tomatoes in pots on my patio at home and the blight has affected those as well. Not so badly though.
Also even if the tomatoes look undamaged they just don't taste as sweet and special as they usually do.

Just a few potatoes affected.
I cut the tops down as soon as the leaves started to get signs of the blight.
Most of the earlies OK. And most of the main crop OK.

So far just the usual half dozen or so gone crap, they are in the bin not composted , taste excellent, it's all down to ventilation, shut them in and you are asking for trouble, they need the circulation.
