In my world some one who is 'woke' is someone who has taken some perfectly decent and sensible ideas and viewpoints and somehow managed to turn them into some malignant agenda. The ultimate in cuntishness in fact. Not that I am accusing you of that.

That might include “lefty lawyers & do-gooders” that a well-known but hopelessly out-of-her-depth politician was heard to utter recently.

Rule of law is for suckers apparently!

One of the reasons that I frame my posts the way that I do, is that I try to take language, particularly contentious language out of the discussion.

If you make the presentation of your thoughts overly combative than the argument shifts, it moves away from the points under discussion and towards the personal, this invariably means that the original points under discussion are lost.

Some people and groups use this as a debating tactic, this is usually because they have no real counter to the argument being put forward. This invariably leads to name calling and the exchange of insults, sometimes even violence.

I try and avoid that if I can.
