UFOs

How do we aliens aren't already with us
. They could look just like us.
We don't know Bud.
What Clubbook fails to get is the inherent nature of curiosity that any species would have to start travelling into space in the 1st place. Guess he assumes all creatures are just as disinterested in 'the unknown' as he is.

The only question i have is why do they only appear in front of hillbillies or conspiracy theorists?
Why don't they land in the middle of Battersea park like Klaatu and get on Sky News?

I have a fairly open mind, i'm sure there's life out there, whether it's advanced enough and close enough to visit us i'm not so sure.
With our current technology as of 2020 it would take about 6500 years to reach the nearest star, and there's no proof it has any life.
So any civilization that's out there that can get here are hundreds if not thousands of years ahead of us technology wise.

Had occasion to stay at the place of a pilot for TAP in Lisbon for about two weeks. He flew the Lisbon to Brazil run and was fervent about it. Never said what he saw in particular, just that he saw them and was very open to discussing the subject in a general sense. He had a room that was a virtual library on it, books, magazines - it was something to see. I suppose if anyone knows, he did.
Strange dude, he served as a bomber pilot in the Angolan War and I suspect he suffered from some form of guilt. Anytime he saw someone he knew to be Angolan he'd literally cross the street to try and do something for them. Buy a coffee, a meal, give some change - just try to be helpful.

Remember reading somewhere that in the US, reports of sightings to the air force drop to near zero in times of national conflict. Wars, disasters, etc.

I think this is where a lot of the bad feeling stems from with some of us. (Although, obviously we seem to like arguing)

Here goes... That's another statement of certainty that to me, seems not only lazy, and 'snobby', but it's verifiably wrong.
The most famous case in the UK occurred on an airforce base with multiple 'qualified' witnesses. Within 24 hours an investigator was sent out to find out what the hell was going on, only to be told that 'the thing' was back. Second night on the trot. Out he goes with a group of airforce people, and he too becomes another witness.

The most compelling cases, for me, are the ones invloving recorded radar data, backed up with a scramble of airforce jets who are guided to the 'blip', and who then go on to describe what they see: a ufo. (That's often the crew of at least two planes all seeing and reporting the same thing.) When the thing shoots off, it disappears on the radar too.

No, only hillbillies see flying saucers and only ghosts are of famous people. Ask the idiots.

I am interested, I just don't happen to believe they've been here. We're the lucky recipients of some massive coincidences that has created the "Goldilocks Zone" that has enabled life to exist. As there are an almost infinite number of stars and planets we can't be the only ones, also life likely exists in forms unknown to us.

Perhaps TeaBreak was just having a laugh.

Stop taking yourselves so seriously.

❄️
Teabreak wouldn't know a laugh if it shat on his face. :)

(Perhaps not true Teabreak, but I've got to reply to sixthswan with some abuse: his ego and psychology craves it.)

you mean people have different senses of humour? whoda thunk it?

the first two lines were partly serious partly fun, as you know.

the second part was serious, and you didn't seem to bother with that part, as if you wanted to be offended by the funny line.

Sorry, I wasn't actually offended. It just seems a constant theme that's repeated on here in various guises by various people.
I didn't respond to the 2nd part, true. Not because I disagree, but I didn't think it needed commenting on. It just seems obvious.

Something I just read...

When I was five, my family owned a huge ranch in the middle of nowhere. Around 7 pm, we were out on the property while my mom was back at the house. Suddenly, we heard the loudest noise I’ve ever heard in my life. I looked up in the sky and saw a huge silver-colored ball falling from the sky. I started grabbing at my dad’s shirt and pointing up.

I tried to yell, but it was SO loud he couldn’t hear me. He threw me in the truck and we raced back to the house. As we drove up, we saw my mom on the porch, shaking. We knew she had witnessed the same thing. We went inside and my parents immediately got on the phone and called the sheriff’s office.

They also called family, friends, and anyone they could think of for help. While they were on the phone with my grandpa about half an hour later, we heard another LOUD noise. Like a thousand explosions going off at the same time. We got back in the truck and started driving to the front of the ranch, still on the phone. That’s when things got truly weird.

As we got closer, we heard what sounded like large machinery at the gate. Sure enough, at the entrance of our property, we were met with two 18-wheelers and at least five black, unmarked SUVs. A man stepped out and demanded access to the property. So my parents opened the gate, they all drove in, the man got back out and told us to leave.

At this point, my mom was still talking to granddad, who heard all this happening. He very sternly told mom that we should do as they said. So we had to drive around doing nothing, questioning and panicking for over an hour. When we finally got back to our front gate, we saw all the vehicles leaving, but the 18-wheelers now had black tarps covering whatever was underneath.

That was it. We went back in the house in complete silence. We hugged each other, and went to bed. Never found a crash site, nothing left behind, no one ever contacted us, nothing.
