The bad news is that we’re not going to get automatic promotion this season. It’s mathematically impossible for us to finish in the top two. Both C*v and The Smoggies will finish higher than us.

A draw away at Vicarage Road adds Watford to that very exclusive club of teams that have failed to put a goal past our defence.
However Southampton and Wrexham now join the list of teams we’re unable to catch this season. And there dies Tops dream of getting back into the premier League via the playoffs. I suspect most of us thought this was nothing more than the wildest of wild dreams at the time he said it.
 
A draw at home to Preston means we can no longer finish above the sheep. Gone are the days when we were consistently the highest placed midlands team.
 
Another bloomin’ draw, this one away to Sheffield Wednesday, adds Norwich, Watford, Bristol City and QPR to the list of teams we can’t catch.
 
A defeat at home to Swansea, the first in 76 years against this Welsh side, means that Preston, Swansea, Stoke and Sheffield United all get added to the list of teams we can’t catch.
 
A one-nil defeat away at Portsmouth adds Pompey to the list of teams that we can’t catch. Their three wins on the spin (remember a win anyone?) probably justifies the chants of We Are Staying Up.

It now looks like three teams, us Oxford and West Brom, chasing the final safety place. And we don’t appear to be doing much chasing.
 
looks more like it's oxford or West Brom joining us, dependant on West Brom's points deduction. Would sum up the FA if all 3 teams relegated had a points deduction.
 
Oxford might need us to beat Blackburn in the final match of the season to survive. That would be sad for them but hysterical also.
 
And the two all draw against Hull adds every fucker except Oxford to the list. And, to be honest, I wouldn’t fancy our chances of catching Oxford either.
