We have to be more aggressive

As it seems the refs are now allowing the game to flow more, we must be more aggressive. Noticed Wolves bullied us a lot, won most headers and knocked us off the ball a lot. Traore is obviously like a bulldozer but the way he knocked Vestergaard out of the way in the 2nd half was almost embarrassing.
The teams who’ve done well in these first games are the ones who’ve got at the opposition. Spuds, Brentford and Manure in the games I saw gave their opponents no time at all and got stuck in. It worked in all 3 games. We must do the same.

As many others have pointed out. That’s true. But if we continue to play how we did in the 2nd half we’ll concede. Yes it was the first game but the way Jimenez won virtually every header against Söyüncü and the way Traore managed to get passed our defenders wasn’t good. We need to step up IMO. It wasn’t a bad performance, a dirty win, but let’s hope we move on as we get more match fit

I think your view is curious. For the last two seasons our team has been the best 'pressing' team in the league, closing down opponents and working twice as hard as most.
I came on here suggesting that it was a factor in late season 'fade' during both seasons. I noticed last season that we eased off after Christmas and BR acknowledged that he had told the players to do that.
Yes, refs are following new guidelines designed to ease certain frustrations and this needs adjusting to but a team's energy levels have to be managed over ninety minutes, and a season, both on an individual and collective level.
If you want to see us flying into tackles as in days of yore then get used to more contact and muscle injuries.
The better teams don't do that, preferring to close off space (book of Guardiola/Rodgers, Chap. 1, Verse 1)...

Last night was a prime example of being bullied from the off. When I spoke of aggression last week, the way West Ham played last night is what I meant. They were first to the ball, shrugged off our defenders with ease meaning they looked dangerous every time they came forward. It’s passive aggression not the way Perez went in for the red.
I was just thankful they didn’t score 7 or 8

The way Antonio, not only bullied soyuncu but came back to the half way line to bully ndidi & tielemans you’d have thought they were down to 10 men.
Vardy was just standing up the top of the pitch waiting for a pass from players who couldn’t retain the ball for a split second.

It's undeniable that we looked lightweight last night.
I noticed some times ago that when we lined up the other team was much larger, like seniors and juniors about to start two matches.
And last night it was our lads on the ground mostly...:(

Yes you’re right. Traore made our midfield and defence looks like kids last week shrugging them off like Jonah Lomu. But that was expected. The fact that Jimenez in his first game back after a very traumatic head injury won every header was particularly worrying. The whole team looks powerpuff at times. Maddison doing his swan lake impression, Perez ummmm, poor Luke looked like the 19 year old he is last night, the ‘bull’ that’s Söyüncü was piss poor, Harvey was ganged up on and even the ever brilliant Wilf was left on his own. They had a field day. To be fair it was a masterclass of an average/good side ( IMO) doing a number on a side with far better footballers who weren’t up to the mark.
Àrsenal on a wet November night at Stoke anyone?
