Who believes in God?

Noticed all the replies on the Sardinia thread saying I’m not religious but.
Is not religious the same as not believing in God?
Why are we all caught up with Celtic v Rangers. (Well the new Rangers as the old one doesn’t exist anymore)
Why do we sing God save the Queen.
Christmas, Easter etc.
Why are we happy to follow the Sunday shopping regulations due to it being the sabbath etc etc when most of us are not religious or think God is just the figment of the establishments imagination to control us.
We’re all just fucking sheep really ain’t we?

I don't know if there is a God?

Couldn't care less about the Old Firm.

The national anthem is just a song.

Christmas and Easter are an excuse to have time off work.

The less time I spend shopping, the better.

Apathy rules!
Stood the test of time in controlling us though ain't it?

Sadhguru: Let us look at the world. All the believers, are they living ecstatic lives? No. There have been some devotees who have been ecstatic, but they are just a handful. In the past, there was one Mirabai and one Ramakrishna Paramahamsa who jumped around in ecstasy. Nowadays, we do not see such devotees all over the place though almost 90 per cent of the world believes in some kind of God. If 90 per cent was really joyful, I would retire. I would really like to see a day like that.

When I was eight or nine years of age, I was so intrigued to see what happens to people who go into the temple to meet God. So I went and planted myself in front of a major temple, watching everyone closely when they come out. All I found was that when they came out, they were generally gossiping about something or someone they saw inside—what they were wearing and what they were doing. In Indian temples, sometimes someone’s footwear walks away with someone else. And when they saw their footwear missing, they would curse the creation and the creator.

I always found people coming out of restaurants seemed to have more happiness on their faces than people coming out of temples and churches. Somebody went and met the Divine and came out without any joy on their face. Somebody ingested a dosa or idly and came out more joyful! Doesn’t make sense, does it?

This is because there is no experience of the Divine, there is only belief; and what you believe is just social and cultural. “But can I live better minus God?” I don’t think there is such a possibility. What is it that you call as God? Whatever the source of creation is, that is what God is. Can you live without the source of creation? Because there is a source of creation, there is a creation. Can you live well minus the source of creation? There is no such possibility. Can you live without the awareness of the source of creation? Yes, but not too well. But if you are aware, conscious and in direct contact with the source of creation, you would live absolutely well.

Well into the 22nd century, a group of scientists decided to go and meet God. They went there and said, “Hey old man, you have done pretty well with the creation. Thanks for that, but now we can do everything that you can do. We think it is time for you to retire.” God said, “Is that so? What all can you do?” “Well, we can create life.” God said, “Let me see.” So they picked up a little bit of soil and made a little baby out of it; it became alive. God said, “Ok, that’s impressive. But first get some soil of your own.”

Whatever you do, it is only from the source that is already there. Minus that, how would you do anything? There is no minus that. You can either be in access or not in access to God. If you live without access, you may have some capability, but also great struggle. That is what is happening right now with so many people. If you are in access, you will live in absolute ecstasy and capability.

Note to Sadhguru.

The source of creation is visible every day. The sky at night and the sun in the day.

That should be enough to fill you with joy and ecstasy.

Notice the wonder of the things you see every day.

It matters little, whether some geezer with a beard created it all.

RICK: I think you've got the wrong house - you see, I don't believe in God. CHRISTIAN: How do you know his name then, smart arse

Oh ok.

Serious question, what do you think the highest level is, that a man can reach in his life ?

l have my thoughts on this and its quite simple.

Probably what they call Nirvana. But I doubt any of us are capable.

Happiness I'm guessing. Whatever that is to you.

I see what l believe is the highest level in quite a few people, l feel l attain it now and then, but no where near as much as l should which l believe is down to my personality. I see it in one person on here l think, (not really from his posts actually) not that others don't have it but its not obvious to me though.
