Youri Tielemans

On the "Who's off next ?" thread Daggers correctly opined that money might be a reason for someone moving e.g. Drinkwater but mentioned £200k per week. Now I know football wages are the wild west but if Youri really is on £40k pw (with Nacho on £80k and Gray on £55k must be true, I read it on here) then someone at the club ought to be looking at it.

If so I also hope this situation is being looked at. We are fortunate enough that there are some bright heads in our club who don't buckle easily so there is hope that this will be rectified before the usual suspects come sniffing about.

If it’s all roughly true I like that we bring new players in and don’t pay them top dollar. It gives them the incentive to come in, work hard, get integrated into our setup and play their way to a decent pay rise & new contract.

Good point. Especially with Youri Tielemans, this seems to have worked very well.

As I said, I'm confident the bright heads in our club know what they are doing and will rectify potentially risky contract situations before they lead to rival clubs turning a player's head. Or at least making sure we get top dollar in transfer fees.

I think that as we’re such a tight knit unit and a good place to be that any player unhappy with their wages would make it known rather than just look elsewhere.
