A Proper Roofer's Holiday

Roofer
Went across to Barmouth (Iwan Roberts territory I was told) for a few days - stayed in Eric Steel's (remember him?) guest house, Wavecrest on Marine Parade
Him and his smashing Mrs did us proud - treated us like family.
Great room with stunning views across the estuary.
Their dog took us out for a very decent pub meal and then an equally decent pub crawl.
Some cracking restaurants to try out as well.
Pity it pissed down a fair bit - but it is in Wales - that's what they do!
Seriously though its a very interesting place in a spectacular part of the world.
And you get a chance to moan to the owner about being relegated.

Spent one of my birthdays in a pub in Barmouth back in the early 80s, rained as well and I can also remember that railway bridge…

There's lovely! Did you see Iwan Robert's council flat (and magic hat) and was Julian Joachim still living next door?
(I think that was the gist of it).

I'm spending a few days at a pals house on the Gower late August. I was told "it might be bloody hot or pissing it down" so that makes clothes packing easy. :)

I Stayed at Greenacres Holiday Park in Morfa Bychan, I couldn't stop whistling that Chris Spedding song

Ive just come back from another week in Anglesey. When I can, Im moving up there.
me, being the natural born Prince of Wales (Owain Glyndwr's 17th g/grandson) you can fuck off.

The red hot poker up the arse being all the rage back then could be brought back.

I still rate Anglesey as the worst week's holiday I ever had.
Rained all week and everywhere we went seemed to be grey. Just grey.
Best day was getting the ferry over to Dublin.
