Kris Commons, ex red filth and sheep has added his insight and intellect to the Gerrard to the vile story... "Listen, Villa are infinitely bigger than Leicester... they were European champions"
Yes Kris, 39 long years ago. Looks like those days of living in the past at club level have left their mark. Another bitter ex Celtic twat.

Danny murphys opinion on talkshite this morning apparently was he’d be very surprised if gerrard left rangers for villa because he feels gerrard wants to work at the top of the game & villa have a very low glass ceiling.
Did make me smirk

Technically yes they have bigger fan base and bigger historically.

Technically? Nothing technical about it, I would say Man City almost certainly have a bigger fan base due to their recent success. And historically? what does that even mean? Are Preston N E a bigger club than most, what about Huddersfield? And as Micky says Man City also have quite a decent "history"

Interesting debate but what makes a "big" club?

Pre Premier League, ground size and attendances were probably the main factors because nearly all the income came from the turnstiles. Now TV money is more important than ticket sales and all the PL clubs get a good whack.

Rich owners obviously come into it but only if the money is spent well. That brings quality of management in to it plus ambition.

Everton, Newcastle, Sunderland, Leeds, Villa and Spurs all probably regard themselves as big clubs but haven't won that much between them over the last 25 years or so. So "big" is a debatable concept. As for history, you know what Henry Ford said.

Support ! nothing else.

Which would make West Ham the fourth biggest club in the country, even though they have never won the League...

Villa should be looking at Callum Davidson, he's won 2 trophies in Scotland compared to Gerrard's one.

Man City and Chelsea are both interesting as neither are that well supported. It’s relatively easy to get a ticket for most games if you’re a club member.
