How does JR match up as a DoF

I was wondering just how his skill set matches up with others. We know he started out as a youth coach, then started to run the academy - then the huge promotion to Director of Football. Villa have just appointment a new DoF - Monchi - from Sevilla.

Here's his background - https://trainingground.guru/article...med-president-of-football-operations-at-villa

Further comparisons can be made with:

David Weir at Brighton - https://trainingground.guru/articles/weir-appointed-technical-director-at-brighton

Tony Khan at Fulham - https://www.fulhamfc.com/club/tony-khan/

And Notts Forest fairly recently appointed DoF Ross Wilson - https://www.skysports.com/football/...ter-leaving-post-as-rangers-sporting-director

More comparisons can of course be made, especially by checking profiles on training ground guru. Unfortunately they do not say a great deal about JR - https://trainingground.guru/staff-profiles/leicester-city-staff-profiles

But what do you reckon - is JR the right guy based on experience, knowledge and his track record

Top thinks so ,and until it dawns on him that there that are far more qualified available Teflon John Will still be here.

I know Brentford and maybe Brighton seem to have adopted the Moneyball philosophy.

That requires a deep rooted strategy, one that I’m certain Rudkin has no idea of how to make work. In fact anything like this wouldn’t even be in his wildest dreams.
