No, you're a very naughty boy.I am not the bloody Messiah.
And talking of the Romans, I can imagine the Celts were probably saying the same thing.
No, you're a very naughty boy.I am not the bloody Messiah.
I’d be angrier at Johnson & his cronies if I was taken in like you were.I am afraid that you are no coming across as the archetypal keyboard warrior.
Unlike you and a few others on here, I am open and honest about what I do and what I think. I do not hide behind snide comments and I say what I think and, when necessary, defend my position.
I am clear and straightforward, I know some of you find that difficult as my positions are clear and well thought out, your arguments are, in all honesty pretty poor. No logic or consistency and a resolute determination to not say what you actually think.
I can only conclude that you have very little to say, constructive thought seems difficult for you.
I own everything that I say on here, no problem. However I will not take responsibility for what others say or do.
It is not a difficult concept, I take responsibility for what I say and what I do, I do not take responsibility for what others say and do.
Quite right too. What did the Romans ever do for us?No, you're a very naughty boy.
And talking of the Romans, I can imagine the Celts were probably saying the same thing.
How can I take responsibility for the actions of others? Don't be so absurd.I’d be angrier at Johnson & his cronies if I was taken in like you were.
But you prefer to blame others - not exactly taking responsibility.
No, but who pays for it?Anyone ignoring the pay rises for the people who serve your coffee, deliver your food, do your check out, clean your house?
Not a bad thing is it…?
Because people like you put them in that power of responsibility. How can I take responsibility for the actions of others? Don't be so absurd.
The vote for many was because the working classes were pissed off at poor pay and conditions now as a HGV driver my pay has gone up 20%this year and the company are more careful about forcing stupid hours on us , so good for me in the short term .Who pays for it ? ....well the company I work for made 900 million profit last year ! but of course they will want to maintain there margins and will pass that cost on .The vote for many was because they wanted to see less brown faces and hear fewer foreign accents in Tesco’s . If you say otherwise you are
We all do a little but is that such a problem? It’s called equality. No, but who pays for it?
Spot on.The vote for many was because the working classes were pissed off at poor pay and conditions now as a HGV driver my pay has gone up 20%this year and the company are more careful about forcing stupid hours on us , so good for me in the short term .Who pays for it ? ....well the company I work for made 900 million profit last year ! but of course they will want to maintain there margins and will pass that cost on .
A bunch of middle class wankers at a golf club are never going understand these simple reasons and are happy just to dismiss us as racist and xenophobic
I don't think anyone here has suggested that was the sole reason for the majority of 'Leave' voters. But anyone that did does seem a bit too keen to defend themselves ("I'm not a racist, but...").A bunch of middle class wankers at a golf club are never going understand these simple reasons and are happy just to dismiss us as racist and xenophobic
Unlike many people I engaged in the process, unlike others who did not and then have the nerve to moan and complain about it when they themselves have not contributed in any way, reprehensible.Because people like you put them in that power of responsibility.
You bang on about how you consider everything when you reach a decision/conclusion - somehow you forgot which party & who it was at the top of that party you were handing responsibility over to when you were voting.
It seems like that careful consideration deserted you when it mattered the most.
It is always my fault Rf, normal socialist tactics of blaming others for their own failings.Looks like its all AFCs fault? You idiots still think we have a say in what happens in this country
Typical "I'm alright Jack" attitude. It's a problem if you're just about managing. We all do a little but is that such a problem? It’s called equality.

Yeah ive had a payrise too muzz , they are starting to realise that theyve shit on the industry too long , you aint going to get new drivers that will stay as the hours , pay , conditions have been left to rot for yearsThe vote for many was because the working classes were pissed off at poor pay and conditions now as a HGV driver my pay has gone up 20%this year and the company are more careful about forcing stupid hours on us , so good for me in the short term .Who pays for it ? ....well the company I work for made 900 million profit last year ! but of course they will want to maintain there margins and will pass that cost on .

Exactly, its been pointed out numerous times, Europe wide! No one bothers to broach that point.Yeah ive had a payrise too muzz , they are starting to realise that theyve shit on the industry too long , you aint going to get new drivers that will stay as the hours , pay , conditions have been left to rot for years
not many other jobs would it be the norm to be working 13/15 hours a day with 9 hours at home then expected to go again for 15 hours
services are a joke if you can find a parking spot
some companies (dpd) to name 1 you have to ring transport office for permission to stop for a piss
cameras in the cab watching you all day , £5-7 k for the training
now the cheap labour from eastern europe has gone we are starting to see the boot on the other foot & pay is increasing but the conditions arent
until they improve there will always be a shortage & its not just about brexit as the shortage is europe wide
Just a thought - is there a possibility of double-counting going on? For instance, if you're a driver than covers a number of countries, which country are you counted for?Exactly, its been pointed out numerous times, Europe wide! No one bothers to broach that point.
I would have thought we would be talking of drivers employed by British, German, or any other nationality country. So, why does Germany, for instance, have a shortage of 40000 HGV drivers? Theyre in the EU, arent they?Just a thought - is there a possibility of double-counting going on? For instance, if you're a driver than covers a number of countries, which country are you counted for?
As i said the industry of haulage has been neglcted by greedy bosses offering shit pay & conditions for yearsI would have thought we would be talking of drivers employed by British, German, or any other nationality country. I'd hazard a guess some of those middle class golf club wankers also voted 'Leave', failing to realise the consequences of their actions.
What's 'working class' nowadays anyway
Aren’t your first two sentences here quite contradictory?I don't think anyone here has suggested that was the sole reason for the majority of 'Leave' voters. But anyone that did does seem a bit too keen to defend themselves ("I'm not a racist, but...").

Bloke moans about stereotyping Ffs .The vote for many was because the working classes were pissed off at poor pay and conditions now as a HGV driver my pay has gone up 20%this year and the company are more careful about forcing stupid hours on us , so good for me in the short term .Who pays for it ? ....well the company I work for made 900 million profit last year ! but of course they will want to maintain there margins and will pass that cost on .

Very good Adumass but what happens is other companies cotton on to this type of margin and compete. Which leads to more competition and Company A then has to suck up some of the cost rather than pass it on eroding that profit and keeping some normality in pricing.its not's equality though if only one side is paying the bill.
go back and re-read muzzdogs post that you agreed with. his company made nearly a bill in profit last year, and will look to do the same this year.
in the meantime prices have gone up up up. the only way for them to maintain that margin is to get us to pay it. no thought of them lowering their margin to make it more equitable. with that kind of profit they could pay everyone in their organisation a fair wage, no?
"Clean your house"!? Ooooooooh get you. You shouldn't have been such a tight arse in the first place then.Anyone ignoring the pay rises for the people who serve your coffee, deliver your food, do your check out, clean your house?
Not a bad thing is it…?
Well, now the pearl clutchers are onto you it will be your fault when prices go up, not the greedy owners and shareholders who will be demanding the same return. As i said the industry of haulage has been neglcted by greedy bosses offering shit pay & conditions for years
young people dont want to be doing 60+ hours a week for £450 take home pay then be expected to stop in piss stinking laybyes eating overpriced shite while having stricter rules & regulations than an airline pilot
want more drivers to get the goods to the stores ?
change the conditions
improve the pay
just for a start
also until last year we could make an half decent living by going as a ltd company had its downfalls but some made it work well for them then they decided to pull the rug from that & make it very difficult to operate that way
i know loads of drivers that quit the day that happened
"Clean your house"!? Ooooooooh get you. You shouldn't have been such a tight arse in the first place then.
I’m talking to them not referencing myself! I’m very handy with a hoover"Clean your house"!? Ooooooooh get you. You shouldn't have been such a tight arse in the first place then.
Mistry, are you, or are you not, going to explain why the leaders of the European Union have a shortfall of 40000 HGV drivers?Just a thought - is there a possibility of double-counting going on? For instance, if you're a driver than covers a number of countries, which country are you counted for?
The 40000 is just Germany! Now, I know that our shortage is caused by Brexit, because you and Mistry have told me. But, what has caused Germany’s?May I venture to suggest 40000 drivers spread over 27 countries will cause less impact than 100000 over 1
As far as I understand it Covid and Brexit are both having an impact .The 40000 is just Germany! Now, I know that our shortage is caused by Brexit, because you and Mistry have told me. But, what has caused Germany’s?
