What about his £15 minimum wage support to a tenner now. Surely folk will see right through him?Told you, that speech will have done more today than his entire leadership role to date.
Boris has the media on his side and the establishment. I guess if Sir Keith takes their 40 pieces of silver things could change.Like they see through Boris?
When Ive had a hard day in the tater field, can I give you a shout on here, Dick, so you can bestow some human kindness upon me?Never mentioned anything about how to treat dopey cunts did I

Here's the thing, though. The poll they refer to in that article was published at 5pm yesterday. YouGov say they collated the responses on Tuesday and Wednesday. But takes a few hours for them to check the data and write the report, which makes it likely that the vast majority of responses (probably all, in fact) were collected by lunchtime yesterday - ie, before Starmer stood up to speak. What's more, most people wouldn't have watched the speech live but would have seen clips of it during the evening news bulletins - which were broadcast after the poll was published. So how on earth can the result of the poll possibly be interpreted as response to Starmer's speech?
Really !!! That exchange between him and the so called Corbynites, made him look more of an embarrassment imo. There is something about him, maybe mechanical ? Stage managed ? Unnatural ? Can't quite fathom him.
Looks I'll at ease imo, like when he treats PMQ like a surgical trial at court.
The charisma doesn't flow naturally from him . When those hecklers were gobbing off, he looked in a daze, you could see he was being distracted by them, but couldn't find that off the cuff killer putdown which would of roused the conference. The camera panned around, and you could see the likes of Rayner and colleagues, looking as if they were squirming and hoping that their leader was going to deliver that dynamic response to the rebels. It didn't happen.
I just think Starmer is bridging the gap between the disastrous Corbyn and the next serious contender. Time will tell, but he won't be PM imo
The quotes I’ve read from folk who were actually there all pretty much say it was cringe worthy. Not just sound bites from MSM. Time will tellHere's the thing, though. Nichola?I'd prefer a surgeon to a showman to be my prime minister...

Corbyn supporters hated the speech and have been slagging it off in the media. Quelle surprise. Many others have responded favourably to it. The one poll I've seen that specifically asked people about the speech itself (by Opinium) was broadly positive. Here's a link to a twitter feed by Opinium discussing its findings:The quotes I’ve read from folk who were actually there all pretty much say it was cringe worthy. Not just sound bites from MSM. He was responding directly to the fact that Corbynites were going around trashing the poll on Starmer's speech because they didn't like what it said. Everybody knows that the left of the party are desperate for Starmer to fail, so it's not exactly surprising to hear them squealing like pigs about a poll that indicates that Starmer's speech was well received and enhanced his image with the public.Ahh, Opinium, that the company this guy runs?
Oh deary deary me.

It’s realpolitik. He knows that getting the Sun onside would significantly increase his chances of getting elected. It would be great if you could win an election in this country by holding lofty left-wing ideals, but sadly you can’t.Sir Keith has written the editorial for the Sin today it says.
Is this the sort of politician you want Bill. The lot of them are lying cheating scum and we accept it because they don’t lie and cheat as much as the other lot.
Cynical bastards
True, however do you think it was a deliberate tactic to isolate a whole swathe of potential voters to get the middle ground voters back? I think it’s a risky plan. Push too hard and the left may find an alternative party. Corbyns actual voting numbers were higher than any Labour leader at a GE for many years. It shows where this country is though when you have to get The Sun on board to win a GE. But even looking on here you can see why. It’s realpolitik.
