Brit Floyd

I saw Pink Floyd live once, in 1977, on the Animals tour. There’s no chance of ever seeing them live again, given the acrimony that exists between the surviving members of the band, so I took the opportunity to catch this tribute band last night, who are touring the US in support of the 50th anniversary of “Dark Side”.

They played a three-hour set that included all of the aforementioned, plus all of the other stuff you’d expect to hear, and some less well known songs, including two from Meddle.

They are technically gifted musicians, and they put on a great stage show (no idea how they get the rights to some of what they did), so it was a good night, tinged with a little bit of nostalgia.

Please tell me?
How to create your first post.
Yours faithfully.

i've seen gilmour, wright, waters and mason live, but never the floyd even though i'm a huge fan with hundreds of bootlegs. i can't deal with tribute bands at all though.

What were Floyd like live in 77? I bought Animals that year with my second wage packet. Dogs is my fave PF tune!
Also love Meddle - San Tropez, Pillow Of Winds, Fearless and the mighty Echoes
And Brit Floyd are awesome.

If, you liked the Brit Floyd, you should check out the Aussie version.
Been going to see them for years, and a much bigger outfit with more lasers, inflatables etc.
They play all over the world every year, and never fail to impress.

I saw them at the New Bingley Hall in Stafford, basically a big cowshed which, in retrospect, was pretty appropriate. They played Animals all the way through, took a break, came back and did the same thing with Wish you were Here, and then did Money as an encore. The entire time they were on stage, no one spoke to the audience, which was just weird. So, while it was amazing musically, I lost a lot of respect for them as a band that day.

I've seen Brit Floyd several times. I love the fact that they play the live versions of some of the tracks (basically ensuring the popular guitar solos). Even Tim Renwick's solo at the end of Another brick gets played.

Seen both Brit Floyd and Australian Pink Floyd. As said above both technically very good. On balance I think Brit Floyd are the closest to the real thing
