By any standards coming into a newly relegated club and proceeding to set a new club record of opening fixture wins is a tremendous achievement. I was really looking forward to getting down there yesterday, a stark contrast to the last part of the frauds reign.
The only thing that really worries me is the goalkeeper standing, and playing the ball, way out of the penalty area. Sooner or later a stray pass will either be belted past or lobbed over him. I understand it is some sort of extra sweeper type thing but to me a very dangerous gamble. Teams will wise up and be looking for the opportunity... UTC!

I suppose the calculation is that while that will happen every so often, it will be more than offset by the benefits of having a sweeper-keeper. Overall - the theory runs - we’ll be better off playing that way even if it means we concede the odd embarrassing goal when it doesn’t work.

Yeah I get that but... it's us remember - it won't happen early on with lots of time to repair damage more likely a crucial game near the end. A bit too gung ho for me is all I'm saying.

His two important kicked clearances looked panicky and not-great yesterday to me, and certainly no upgrade on what one'd expect Iverson to manage. Their far post corner was just as worrying as the ones by Hamer a fortnight before. But the fingertip diving save may have saved a goal, and I'm sure he helped put their striker off in the one-on-one.
So he seems adequate to me so far, rather than some sort of hero in the making.
