Getting A Bit Nervous Now

Thats where a pre-match few pints down the pub comes in handy on matchdays.
Takes the colly wobbles away and ensures mostly positive vibes.

Some would be in a small pub near the station discussing whether to get a taxi or the train up to the ground.

That the game is as late as 7.15 on a Sunday doesn’t help.

As it happens I have been to Anfield and Goodison - just not been inside the grounds.
Alexei Sayle's Mum used to live in a terraced house in between the 2 grounds and she put me up along with Alexei's backing band when we were touring up that neck in the woods about 1983.

Goodison is great Soho a proper old school ground and decent fans, and decent pubs to visit before and after. I’d recommend a visit before it gets bulldozed.

Subs: Ward. Big Wes Thomas Choudhairy Praet Under and the NGM. No Timmy alas.

You won't fail to spot Little Wes - he's had a blond rinse.

I stood on the old kop in '92 as a 'neutral' when they played Chelsea. Some revolting bloke kept coughing on the backs of our heads throughout. Vinnie Jones and a pre-despised Dennis Wise scored and Liverpool lost 1-2. They barely sang anything. Best supporters in the land? My arse.
