Harry Winks

The eternal pessimist
has undoubtedly been pivotal to our success so far. But he's played every minute (I think) and is one booking away from a suspension. Just about every other player apart from the goalie have been rotated. What will Enzo’s solution be if he is injured or suspended? I know the international break gives him a rest but it’s a long season and a worry.

Don't worry, we can always call Soumare back from Seville :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

In all honesty though, as most teams will sit back against us I'm sure the new confident Hamza could do the job if required.

Key quality in that role is the ability to receive the ball under pressure, in tight situations, and use it securely.

I think Maresca may well use Hamza there, but will do so only sparingly. As others have said, from what we know the long term competition for that role may be Braybrooke.

Could Praet do that job?

I can't see him suddenly deciding Praet would be the best player for a key role considering he hasn't deemed him good enough for any position yet.

I don't think Hamza's close control and passing is good enough. Maybe Ricardo?

How anyone thinks choudhury would be remotely competent at filling in for winks is bewildering.
As has been said maresca wants winks to receive the ball under pressure ( that’s the whole idea of taking 2/3 players from the opposition out the game )
Choudhury would have it taken from him multiple times resulting in him hacking down the player that did it & getting sent off.

It’s a real shame that Braybrooke is still injured. I can see him being the ideal person to give Winks a rest. Also he’s supposed to be the real deal so hopefully from December onwards he’ll play a pivotal role in the 2nd half of the season.

What are the lyrics?
I'm assuming Tartan means the highly imaginative "Harry, Harry Winks! Harry, Harry Winks!"

File under those other lyrical masterpieces "Danny, Danny Ward! Danny, Danny Ward!" (to the same tune) and "Marc Albrighton! Marc Albrigton!" or the likes of the even more economical "Schmeichel! Schmeichel!"

Apart from Wilf, Mavididi, Dewsbury-Hall and Daka (feel free to add others I may have forgotten) in the current squad the dearth of any reasonably original and imaginative ditties about our players is a tad embarrassing. What do the likes of Ricardo, Faes, Hermansen etc have to do to get a song of their own?

In Hermansens case shorten his buckin name

I want to tell you,
I might as well do,
About a boy who can do anything,
Signed by Marseca,
To play for Leicester
Harry Winks, Harry Winks, Harry Winks

Painful! I can't see Graham Norton enthusing over that if it was a Eurovision Song Contest entry. Nul points all round.
