…this Saturday. Having a long weekend starting Thursday in the Peaks (Eyam) with my wife and dog. We are being joined by a very dear old University friend of the wifes. She is the most reasonable, charming lady BUT she’s a rabid Spurs fan and season ticket holder. I shall be attending (train from Chesterfield) but on my return I hope to be smugness personified, but the alternative will be unbearable☹️. Think we can call a truce with a draw.
Hope and pray she has a miserable Saturday afternoon.

Eyam- that was the source of the bubonic plague, the village that went into isolation to prevent the spread. But you would know that you clever fucker😊 Stayed a couple of times in the Bulls Head in Foolow just a mile or so away.
Anyway this is a football site- “ listen to me, what am I like?…”😁
Is your Spurs lady coming to the game too?….maybe you could hold her hand…

I hope every Saturday afternoon is miserable for her

The clergyman William Mompesson urged the villagers to lockdown, stemming the spread of the disease and suffering awful losses in their community.
A pity I didn’t learn something a bit more useful at school…
